real nappies - which ones would you reccomend??

we had the real nappies lady at antinatal class last week and it got me thinking about maybe using them.

already have a newborn size pack of the bambino mio ones we got as a prezzie but have heard they are rubbish?!?!

does anyone use them and like them??

heard totsbots are really good? they look so bulky compaired to disposables

i've got packets and packets of everykind of newborn size 1 and 2 nappies so i'll be using disposables to start off with anyway but thinking about after first few weeks.

I didn't start cloth nappies until very late and so I don't have personal preferences as to what works best for a newborn, but with Isaac as a toddler I love using Little Lambs, MEOS (Motherease One Size) and Baby Beehinds. I found buying lots of different kinds was better than buying bulk of one and disliking that one choice I've bought bulk of Little Lambs for our daughter though as I love them so much with Isaac I'm sure they'll work well with a newborn, and I love the Little Lamb wraps too, I hated tots bots personally, and their wraps. I like prefolds but prefer Cotton Bottoms over Mios. If I could afford them I'd go for TotsBots Bamboozles or Flexitots but at the best part of a tenner a nappy they don't come cheap!

I use totsbots bamboozles, which work well for us - it's worth keeping an eye on ebay, I got mine brand new for £6 a nappy as opposed to £9 in the shops. I did use all-in-ones for a day and hated them, plus they took forever to dry.

We don't have a tumble drier and our flexitot has gone all scratchy

We use fluffles and I love them but they are no good if you don't like bulk. I think they are extremely cute and they are excellent if you don't have a tumble drier.

I use Tot bot fluffies they dont leak they absorbe well and fit well they wash easily and keep there softness and dry just as quick as the other clothes on the line Easy to put on take off and are not as bulky as thay look
i bought the size 1 set from ebay for £70 cost more original price (bargin) im watching the size 2's on ebay at the moment as totbots no longer make fluffies so i have to get in now
i looked at little lambs website and almost choked at the cost
And ive read that bamboo and cotton ones take FOREVER to dry and as someone who hasnt got a dryer thats a nightmare.

id get the size 1 and 2's as the birth to potty set ive heard do not fit birth and potty ie to big and bulky on babies to small and tight on older children one sizes do not fit all.

i did like the fluffies, but they were really bulky, would they be any good for just night use?? heard they were great to dry etc and soooo soft.

can all the nappies be tumbled??

From my experience with them its a combination of what you like and what works for your LO I always loved tots bots and believed I'd use them but they just didn't fit/wear well on Isaac so had to ditch them. I did try the squares but it just didn't go well I'd love to use all in ones but they're just a bit too expensive as I buy my nappies from ebay 2nd hand as it is, but would love to try Wonderoos or the new Flexitots either, too expensive at mo as they're new, but might be worth a look too. As far as I know all cloth nappies can be dried in the dryer but obviously line drying is best for all reasons, but I'm sure a much more experienced cloth nappy user will be bale to help much more than I.
