what do you class as being in labour?

do you mean it took you 32 hours to go from 3 - 10 cm dilated?

From when I first went into hospital with contractions 1.5 minutes apart to delivery. When I first arrived they thought that I would deliver within the next 4 or 5 hours.

They tried to speed it up by breaking my waters, and they were surprised by how long it still took after that.

EDIT: I should add that they said I was 2 to 3 cm dilated when I first arrived at the hospital.

If I counted the first twinge I would have said 10 days, as I was in slow labour for over a week first!

Thanks, I'm hopeful that it will be. The reason it took so long was because he was lying sideways. According to my consultant, they are much more likely to be lying correctly in subsequent pregnancies.

But I do have some brown sex sugar my OH got me trying to get me in the mood, but it just tastes of ginger if I give that a go closer to the time who knows
