For a few days now Thea has had these spots on her face that seem to come and go. They didnt look too bad until today. They now look red and sore :(
I took a pic but you cant really see how bad they look. They are all over her face and i can see them through her hair too. Richard thinks they are nothing and i know he is probably right but can anyone tell me what they are and if there is anything i can do for thea to make them better?

are they just on her face? i know its prob not but have you done the glass test? its just me but any rash and im straiht in with the glass.

it looks to me like an alergic reaction to something (my opinion but im not aything to do with medical advice!)

Adele is very sensistive to some soap poweders

Just a thought though.

i would make an appointment with your gp just to be on the safe side

Hope she gets better soon

has she been a bit poorly recently? cold etc?

Harley had a bad cough when he was 4 weeks old. then a few days after it cleared he was covered like that in spots all over his head too it was a iral rash from being a bit poorly. dos gave him atic biotixs.

if its not that then maybe your washing powder? different washing powder sets of Harleys rash

Ellis went through i really ugly spotty stage when he was a few weeks old!! hehe .... I think its just there skin getting used to the outside world.

my daughter had spots like that, so i took her to the hospital as i was really worried, and they said it was a viral rash, and that comes out like that instead of them being really ill
id get it checked tho hun!!

ok so my suggestion is completely different to everyone elses! I do think you should have her checked just in case. Isabelle was like that from about 3 weeks fro 4 weeks as I didn't see the HV as we kept missing each other etc. When she did see her she said she didn't think it was normal and said it was likely to be a milk intolerance.

She considered putting her on a prescription milk - nutrimogen - or Colief drops which is a lactase enzyme that can be missing or low in babies tummies and its that which breaks down the lactose in the milk. She spoke to the doc and he suggested trying the Colief first which I got on prescription and it was an instant improvement. Her rash cleared and her colic stopped and she was like a different baby.

Anyway, sorry to ahve gone on but the rash looked exactly the same!

Harrison had spots really bad like that a lil while ago, when i spoke to HV she said they were normal and were just where my hormones were leaving his body, they're all gone now.

BTW I forget to say you can use the stuff when BF as well not just bottle feeding if it is that!

My baby had a rash like this on his face and body when he was born which they said was just an environmental rash and would clear up. It has now almost gone apart from some of it on his face. Are you using a different washing powder or something as it could be that. If you are worried go and see your GP.

Aaron had this and it's what they call the welcome to the world rash. It takes a few weeks to come up and does look sore. It's usually on their face. Would be so much easier if we were told this could happen. I'm sure she's fine hun.

Max had something like this a while ago, but he only had the rash not the spots. I had been unwell for a about 4 -5 days before the rash, really hot, not wanting to be alone and just generally unwell. Once the rash appeared he was fine again!!

Hope your little one is ok babe

Leorah has this though its getting better, its due to hormones from our milk I was told. Her skin is now a bit dry so I'm a little worried it might be eczema. They apparantly clear up by 2 or 3 months if not before :D

Maddie went through this at 4-6 weeks - it's absolutely normal, they just don't look at their best for couple of weeks the poor poppets! She also lost her hair at the top - looked a bit like a spotty William Hague bless her. I stopped taking photos for a couple of weeks as I didn't think she'd thank me for it when she was older :D

It will clear up on it's own in a couple of weeks and she'll be back to her gorgeous self.

Mel

That is just how Gabriella's was. It has cleared up so much now and she just has very dry skin and the occassional flare up. I replied on your other thread to Skatty about the creams I am using on her.

I hope it clears up soon.

you say they keep coming and going? alfie had that rash just bafter he was born and i was really worried about it as it looked really inflamed and sore and i really thought it was something to worry about. i was told that they are baby spots except that its a very bad case of them, that it isnt harmfull, painfull or irritating and usually go within 8 days, if however you are worried see your HV because all rashes can look similar but be completely different. let us no babe how LO is poor little babs! and let us no how u r, its worrying isnt it x

my 6 week old lil bubba has exactly the same rash for a week now she seems fine just abit spotty it seems to be getting worse as the days go onshe has a few on her chest as well
