random question...family tradditions?

just wondering how many of you (or your kids!) are named coz of family traditions etc...
just coz im amy ann (ann coz da middle person on mums side is ann errr lol)
n my bfs sis is mary louise (like her gran)
how many others r there like this??! lol

not me as such but my grandad, my dad, my cousin and my nephew have all got leslie in their name:
charles leslie (grandad)
graham leslie (dad)
meryl leslie (cousin)
nicholas leslie (nephew)

Tia is Tia Ann (my mums name again)
jordan William (william after my grandad)
Hayden Lee (Lee is my little brothers name lol)
With Abigail i just chose the first name in the baby names book and her middle name is summer, which just came into my head.

onmy dads side most of the men have andrew as a middle name , but , im not liken father alot and altho idlike to keep traditon for my grandad i dont want my dad thiking his named after him !

does that make sense lmao

i may use the middle name james , as that was my mums dad last name and he passed away when i was very younge

We picked names for family reasons. Well all except for one

Oliver John - Oliver after my nanna Olive, John after my husband, my dad, my great grandad, my husbands uncle

Oscar Walter - Oscar was the name we picked as we liked it! Walter after both of my husbands grandads.

If we have a girl we will call her Lilly, which there has been in every generation of my family as long as anyone can remember.

Under Orthodox tradition the children are named after grandparents and it has to be an orthodox name so you end up with all the cousins having the same name!!!! I refused to call our daughter after my m-i-l as DH niece already has her name, we have called our daughter after my DH godparent and the number of people that have said something about it, cause we havent called her after mil!!!!!

well my dad is called John Samuel, so is my brother and his son is too, there are 9 altogether until my nephew has his first son then he will be expected to name him the same way.
We have just started our first family tradition by naming our son after his dad (my dp) and we have his dads name in there too, so we have...Glenn Corey (cos dp likes it) Walter Jagger (walter is dp's dad)

My cousins are Iain James and Andrew James
Iain's boys are Ethan Andrew James and Airen Iain Oliver
My son is Benjamin Harry
so yes I guess we're sticking to family names for middle names !!!!!
