im asking here cos the other threads gone a bit haywire,
but u all seem to agree with hungry baby milk.....
so
can you use it the odd time throughout the day, like just at night and stick to regular milk the rest of the day? or will it mess her stomach up?

reason im askin is cos i have 3 tins of unopened 1st infant milk and 2 tins of hungrier baby (got those this morning to try), so didnt want to waste the 3 tins of 1st milk

thank youuuuu :D

i wouldnt mix feeds hun i would stick to one or the other might upset her tummy

I wouldnt mix them either, once i switched i just switched completely. Tje relief!

Can you not sell the unopened milks on ebay? i think ive seen them for sale on there.

Hi Lady. Sorry for messing up your other thread!!

I wouldnt recommend mixing formula either. It can upset their stomachs.

Mrs Tommos idea is good to try and flog the unopened formula on E Bay. I know its a bit of a pain cos its expensive but it really doesnt do em much good to mix formulas.

The thing with hungry baby milk is its alot thicker and harder to digest therefore your baby stays fuller for longer but I don't advise messing around with different milks, everybaby is different and there is no harm in trying it, we tried on hungry baby milk, he had C&G Green in the day and C&G Hungry baby at night but it didn't agree with him, gave him terrible diarrohea so we decided not to use it anymore.

Hi Kim,

We've just changed Jacob to hungry baby milk and my HV advised we wean him on to it giving him a bottle of 1st milk then next bottle 2nd milk bt always giving him his last bottle at night the 2nd milk. I don't really know why she said this, maybe just so he got used to it over a few days.

Anyhow, I did it for 3 days but I noticed that when he had a bottle of 1st milk he was throwing lots of it back which he never did before  So i'm just giving him the hungry milk every feed now. He's hardly sick with it and doesn't get as much wind but I have noticed that his poo is so much smellier and is getting more solid!

Could you not take the tins of unopened milk back to the shop and say you picked up the wrong ones? I did this last week at Tesco, they did say the don't normally do that because they can't sell the milk on but they said they would do it that once for me! :D

thanks.... gonna finish this half tin of 1st milk and then go onto hungrier baby
ill give the unopened tins to my friend whos pregnant :)

i just give jack hungry baby milk at his last feed and he hasnt had a sore tummy, fingers crossed, i use the same brand as i use with the normal milk, you could give it a try

Kim, I changed Darragh to hungry baby milk two weeks ago on my HV's advice - he is happier on it - but his poo is different (he was a little constipated at first but it settled but is still firmer than it was)

She told me to introduce one bottle of the new milk a day at first (not at night in case it upset him) she said it was totally fine to mix the two until I ran out of the first one. He is back now to feeding every 4 hours and usually takes 5-6 oz but sometimes 7, he still gets up for a night feed but that had never stopped anyway.

I would advise that you try Leah on the hungry baby milk for a few days first, and see how she goes. You can always go back to the 1st milk if you feel it upsets her tummy.

It might take up to a week for any real changes to be noticable. xxx

I wouldn't advise mixing either. I have a friend who's son is still on first and andrew needed the second milk so i gave her my 2 milks and she baught two sonconds. and we swapped. if you cannot do that can you take them into the shop where you baught them and exchange them shouldn't need areciept worth a try.
