Do I need to wash new baby clothes before I put them away to wear?

Am new to domestic Goddess lark and haven't a clue about laundry??!!

I washed all of Jamie's stuff before hand. It's up to you but I would just incase. (Wash them in non-bio)

I didn't with my daughter, and when I did wash them after she had worn them, I washed them together with everything else in normal biological washing powder, and she had no problem with them. I used terry nappies as well then, and they were all boil washed in Daz!

Having said that, we are told so much these days, that I have already washed all of LO's clothes, and they are all done in Fairy non-bio with Comfort Pure fabric softener.

I'm sure most people will say that it is best to wash them first.

Thanks ladies!

I'm all for cutting housework corners, but not when LO is involved! :D

Looks like will be busy for first few days of maternity leave.

I never washed any of mine. i had all intentions to but left it too late as i was set off 3 weeks early so never got a chance.

oh yes definately. When they make clothes they use chemicals and stuff on them! i always wash new clothes before i wear them!
Besides if you use fairy and fairy softner the clothes will smell so gorgeous!

yep mine are all washed and ironed .... cant see them ever being iron again when LO is here but it was nice to do it once!!! haha haha xxxx
