Question for mummies of little girls....

Is it true that you have to stick your finger in their girly bits to get poo out?!! I have 3 neices, and looked after them loads as babies (one still is a baby!!) and I never saw any poo go up there. How often do you have to do it if it is true?

I don't like the idea of it, maybe I'm being over sensitive, but it sounds a bit abusive to me.......

I don't understand about what you mean by in. I have had to clean Seren's front bum after a very sloppy poo but have never actually put anyhting in.

There doesn''t seem much need to go on, but I'll add my NO WAY!

Not only do I have a daughter myself, but I have been a childminder for 9 years and looked after approx 25 girls. NEVER had to go in there no matter how messy the nappy was.

When Scarlett does a really big poo it tends to go up the front of her and covers up all over her bits and just inside the folds, I have to wipe them and get it all out in between her bits with a flannel and water (or wipes if not in the bath) but never, ever have to go inside or anything that might be seen as anything other than her mother cleaning the poo away.

You just use ur mother's judgement- if there's poo, you gently clean it off. No need to worry about intimacy details as u wont do anything inappropriate- the way u question it tells you that

I don't really have anything to add - everybody has covered it already.

If there's loads of poo everywhere you sometimes have to wipe the front part to get rid of it, but you don't stick anything up there. Good lord.

Sorry if I upset you guys with this question, but its been bugging me for a while. I didn't think it sounded right, it came from someone who doesn't have any kids who was telling me why boys are easier than girls...like he would know!!!

Im glad you asked, better than not knowing

And having 2 girls I can safely say I never had to do that - poo just doesnt get there if you know what I mean.

A health visitor told me once, when my baby was constipated, that I should put vaseline on my little finger and put it up her bottom to help her pass the poo, I was horrified at the thought and never did it. So its easy to get mis-information without it being sinister.
