Question about the fish again

The fish thats left is acting really wierd, it just sits at the bottom of the tank most of the day, it scootles about when i come to feed it, it eats food and then spits it back out. What am i doing wrong? I feed it 2-3 times a day like the food says, it gets cleaned out regularly, once a week atm as the water goes murky really quick, i dont know what im doing worng

Do you have a filter? My tank's a pretty cheap hexagonal one with an undergravel filter. I've had one of my goldfish for about 5 years now, the other about 3. I don't clean mine out very often at all, they don't really need it with the filter. There are quite a lot of added bits in tap water that don't agree with fish so either you need to use some sort of water treatment or leave it to sit for 24 hours before adding the fish (sooo not practical!). I only feed mine once a day as well - any more and it's more than they'll eat.

If you don't have a tank with a filter try freecycle - one of my friends got a fantastic tank with filter from there for nothing!

yeah ours has a filter, it came with the tank, it ends up getting loads of brown gunge in it i think its from the food, i only feed it so muchbecause it said so on the tub, thats prob why it gets so mucky though

Sounds like your fish may have a disease and thats prob what killed the other one? Go into a pet shop and describe what the fish is doing etc and they should be able to give you some treatment. x

Is it a gold fish?

If so melly just feed it once a day, they are not big esters and all the waste food makes a right mess hun.

Get it checked though and some treatment if possible. Gold fish are awesome

righti shall do that tomorrow, last day at work tonight so i have loads of free time, i hope i can save the fisy, ill feel so bad if i cant, it was only when i c=got the little white on it did this, it was from pets at home too, this one was from our local small pet shop in our town centre
