Question about evening primrose

I have a horrible feeling I have been taking these wrong. Does anyone know if u should stop taking them at a certain point in your cycle? I have heard u don't take them after ovulation but I have been taking them every day for a couple of months if not more. What an idiot if I have been taking them wrong.
