I am sure thats how you spell it

any way i have seen it on others before and im sure im getting it.

no one in my family has it and i dont no where it has come from. i have it on my scalp and its itching so bad i have flacking skin every where and i look dirty.
i have it on the tops of my arms and legs and elbows.

is it some thing i treat myself with moisteriser ect or can the doc give some thing?
how do people get it and can i stop it from spreading.

i had a friend who was covered in it all her legs, i really dont want to end up like that.

hmm..not sure about this but try some E45 cream its really moisturising..if not ask the pharmacy for some aqueous cream (u might need a prescription i'm not sure) it puts water back in the skin and really helps with dryness!

or you could try crado cream or any of the cradle cap shampoos..see if that helps maybe!

dionne my mum has tthis condition terrible.
Best thing to do is go straight to the doctor who will prescribe proper stuff for it and it will clear it up lovely.
Its caused by stress and dairy produce so try and avoid both -

I know a little bit about this condition from my Beauty Therapy training and have treated clients with it in the salon.

If you do have Psoriasis, then you will have to get prescribed cream and/or tablets from the doctor hun, as it is a medical condition. Normal moisturiser will simply not be enough and could irritate the skin as it will be highly sensitive.

Psoriasis is the over production of skin cells; your skin is renewing itself too fast which will be making it flaky and sometimes sore.

The skin will look scaly, and the scales are often silvery or pinkish and normally present themselves in small patches. The hairline is a common place to get Psoriasis as is the elbows and knees although it can occur anywhere.

The cause of Psoriasis is often unknown, however it can be brought on by stress and can be genetic but not in all cases. It can also be caused by damage to the skin, or taking certain medicines can cause flare ups. For example, a client of mine only started getting Psoriasis after she had taken an ecstasy tablet; no way am I saying you have done this but taking that tablet contributed to her getting Psoriasis so she was informed by her GP.

You will need to use an emollient cream (which is like a heavy duty moisturiser but gentler and will not irritate) this can be prescribed/suggested by your GP too. Its definately best to see your GP for treatment as the degrees of Psoriasis do vary from person to person.

Hope this kinda helps hun!

hi hun

my best friend has this on legs and arms, she uses cream from doctor, nothing perfumed. And the sun or sunbeds also help ALOT!!!

When we was in school the doctor sent her for a treatment at a private hospital in there sun showers.

Only thing was she put he face to close to the tubes and she REALLY wanted it go away and came back to school with a BRIGHT red face and goggle marks hehe xxxxx

thanks for you replies girls. its really really getting me down, my arm are getting worse. harley is seeing the doc tues so il go see him too. i have been very stressed recently  could be that. i hope its not bad and dont get worse i have see some people that are covered in it. im just supprised as i hae never had any probs with my skin before.

my sister gets flare ups dionne but its when she is overly stressed and it sort of comes and goes so maybe thats what you will experience.
Diet is thought to be a factor in the condition too. My mum wass told to cut down on dairy produce which she hasn't done  . So maybe you could try that. Do you drink a lot of milk or eat a lot of cheese or anything?

Hi

I've got it - I only get it when stressed about something, but my brother has it all the time. The best shampoo for your scalp is Polytar - it stinks (and I mean stinks!!! :puke: ) but it does help to clear it up.... also go to the chemist and buy diprobase cream for any other patches on your skin.

Hope this helps!!

Dionne only just seen this. I had this for the first time approx 2 years ago and it was accute, all over my body and looked hideous.

I used the cream but it wasn't that great for me. Anyway went on sunbed and it cleared up no problem. Stop going on sunbed as TTC, got pregnant and haven't had it since. If I do get it then I will go straight back on sunbed.

Mine was definately caused by stress as I was training and had just started a new job which was extremely difficult so I know it was down to that. I hope it goes because I did find it stressful in itself if u know what I mean.

Good luck.

How strange!!!!

Just got it myself! I never ever got it before, but I am quite stressed at the moment as we are in the process of rethinking our life ( :wall: !!!) and also VERY tired! first I thought it was eczema, and put Maheen's cream on, but did not do anything, so went to GP last week, who also thought it was eczema, prescribed me a cream for it,...but it started burning!!! no good!

so went back to se MY USUAL GP, who prescribed me a cream called Betnocate Ointment (ointment are better than cream, apparently, moisturise better!) and it cleared in no time :)
it was great.

It's not come back yet! go and see your GP asap!

Apart from that, are you well? big kisses to your two beautiful angels! I have seen the last pictures you posted, they look great!
