hi all, to cut a long story short, 7 years ago i jumped out of a 1st floor widow to escape a fire, breaking my leg and back. Now 7/8 years later i have slowly developed a fully prolapsed disc. Usually its ok, and i take co-codomol, and now im just on paracetomol. I just wondered if anyone on here has anything similar and how they manage the pain. When i go to my booking in app, im gonna see whats available, but hopefully if anyone has any insight to this in the meantime i would really appreciate it xx

Sorry can't help you but didn't want to read and run. Hope the doc can sort you out x

hiya, its ok, thanks for at least reading it lol, im sure i will cope, as before i got preggers i did lose over a stone, so im guessing i can afford to put that back on without any major issues xx

Hello

I have a prolapsed disc and have had for around 5 years. To be honest I am a bit nervous about it playing up as pregnancy progresses. As you know the pain can be quite severe. I have my doctors appointment tomorrow so will be raising it with him to see what he says.

Congratulations on your pregnancy xx

tell me about it, taking paracetomol is like putting a plaster on a gun shot wound lol. My lovely partner is looking at bump/lumbar supports as we speak lol x

I have 2 prolapsed discs In my lower back they are giving me
Grief. I'm
Being referred to physio but I assume it will be pants! I don't do painkillers either so I just man up( and moan) lol

I have rheumatoid arthritis and I am off medication during my pregnancy and if my symptoms flare up then my doctor will give me a steroid injection which stops my symptoms. I think a steroid injection can be injected locally into a painful area so you might want to check it out with your GP. Steroids are considered generally safe but do your research first because there is a very small increase in the chance of miscarriage, I believe. I'm thankful my symptoms are in remission so I don't need one at the moment. Hope you find a solution.

Oh, other remedies: tens machine, acupuncture maybe?

Oh and congratulations on your BFP!!

are tens machines safe to use early on ?? thanx for the advice x

Hi, I had a prolapsed disc 7 years ago too. Pain free most of the time now and I really think it's mostly down to some really good physios and doing pilates every week. Lots of places do pilates for pregnancy - will help keep things moving and improve your core stability - really important while we're all putting on weight and centre of balance is changing. My OH thinks they're a cult because I rave about pilates so much but honestly, I'm a different woman now than before I started. No kidding.

Best of luck.
