Hi Ladies

When I went in delivery suite triage thurs night, They were going to do a swab to see if labour had started. But after what seemed like the mucus plug coming away, there was too much blood around the cervix to do the swab they needed. The cervix appeared closed at the time.

Though, I had been on a machine that measures contractions. The doc was saying there was no writing on it or something...but the midwife contradicted him. It was then, that w tih the blood and whatever was on the monitor readings, they decided to keep me in 'to see if anything happens and to see what my results were in the morning'

Was given steroid injection fri evening and yesterday evening to mature babies lungs 'just incase'

Eversince thursday, have been having pains that are sharp and work across my stomach. And some across my back. Then stop. Have had a bath last night and this morning to try and ease them off. And tried to co-dydromal they gave me.

Today the pains feel more regular and are lasting a lot longer when they come. I have an appointment with my consultant tomorrow mmorning, but am starting to worry a lot.

Since thurs night, even though they said they would, was never put on the monitor again and did not have any internals. The consultant on his rounds yesterday touched my tummy for one minute (while I was not in pain) and said it should be ok, because it was soft. But thought it was only hard when pains tighten it?? I know that I am probably being silly ladies....But it is easiest to talk to you lot about these type of worries.

Sorry for the long post.

Sophs x

UPDATE: Been to triage. After urine tests that have been positive and inconclusive and constantly repeated since early feb, I know have antibiotics. So, pain is probably a rotten urinary tract!!lol

So, off to see my consultant tomorrow to discuss all my other probs lol

I would try and speak to someone today about it if you are worried. I hope you're both ok

Hey

I'm not great with the advice but would say that if the pains seem to be getting worse it is probably best to phone midwife/ hospital today rather than wait until tomorrow. That way you can be assured either way.

Hope all is ok

Thank you ladies. I think that I will call them a bit later....as I am worrying. It's funny, am scared they will call me in again and they will say its nothing and I have been silly.

But then, if I don't and it all gets worse, I will regret it. So fed up xxx

I don't think you are being silly Soph

You've been through a really traumatic few days and you are understandably worried about your baby. I think regardless of what people think of you you MUST get anything checked out that you don't feel 'right' about because you would never forgive yourself if something turned out to be wrong. And yes, I agree with you, everything is probably fine, but I don't want you to be sitting worrying about these pains all day because it won't do you or baby any good.

I'm glad you're back from hospital

Debecca is absolutely right, you're not silly, you've had a bit of a scare this week. It is much much better to go in and feel a bit silly than sit worrying or wait until something happens. I am sure they will understand your concerns.
Good luck honey!

How far apart are the pains? At first they sounded like B hicks but if they are becoming regular I'd try get checked out today, especially because you are only 27 weeks.
i wouldn't worry about looking slly if you are wrong-its perfectly natural to be concerened and I'm sure MW/hospital with understand that.
Hope everything turns out ok.

your not being silly sweetheart of course your worried its only natural.
dont feel bad about asking for advice
and telling the hospital
you have every right to have your mind put at rest that your baby is fine
your not silly just being a good Mummy

give the midwife a ring hunni. Even if you go in and there is nothing wrong they wont tell you you're being silly babe. Thats what they are there for, to look after you and bubs

Just feeling so weepy now.

They are about 10 mins aprt and last 4 5 mins.

First it starts in the centre of my back and spreads across. Gets intense and eases. While then moving from the outside of my stomach to the middle and then intensifies and eases.

when they have both eased off, back goes back to just a dull ache until it starts again.

I think I will call my hospital for some reassurance.

Just phone labour ward triage and they want me to come back in. Am too scared. Just wanted them to say I was being silly. To say that it says on the screen I have a nasty infection that has just been detected. But no. They want me back in :( I know its for the best, but I just can't cope.

Oh Fuffins I hope everything is ok at the hospital. You'll be in the best hands there and hopefully they'll find out why your getting the pains.

Thinking of you
