Hi girls,

Im so sorry if this is tmi but im really worried that when we have bd'd it doesnt matter how long i stay there if feels like as soon as i get up it all comes back out!! Sometimes in the morning im very wet n i think all the little spermies are escaping before they get the chance to do there jobs!!

I probably sound so stupid but i cant help worrying, anyone else get this and anything i can do to keep them in sorry tmi i know!!

Hi Im sure that someone more knowledgeable might come along any moment but until then I understand that the volume of an ejeculation can vary and some can be quite a lot of liquid so it might just be that OH makes lots of liquid. Thing is healthy sperm can be inside your cervix within 5 mins and so long as youve given them say 30-40 mins lying down then I really wouldnt worry. Some will stay in but it would be pretty unusual to keep it all in. After all you only need a few to make it out of the millions.

Some folks who have donor sperm use a moon cup to keep sperm near their cervix. If you are really worried you could try that!

What is a moon cup?? I do lay there a long time but then i do have to get up coz i often need to go to the loo and then i worry should i not go loo? so tricky this ttc!!!!

I'm so glad this question came up as I thought it was only me!! *waits to know that I am/am not weird*

i imagine that as long as you like there for like 30 mins the spermies will have got as far as they can...what comes out when you stand up i think is just the semen (correct me if im wrong though)...as when i stand up it all comes out but i dont think its possible for it to all stay up there....either that or my body aint right lol

a mooncup is something you can buy that women use as an alternative to tampons/sanitary towels...i have used one in the past as i found tampons were irritating me and giving me thrush xxxx

Hey hun,

I think if you lie down for a while afterwards you probably give them a chance to go to wear they've got to go, but it's all got to come out at some point so you won't be able to stop it from coming out when you get up in the morning. I'm pretty sure that sperm can stay alive in your system for 72 hours so once the swimmers are on they're way, they're not coming back ;)

You should watch The Great Sperm Race on 4od online.

Really glad you asked this as I ws wondering this myself early this morning when I got up and was also a little surprised at how much still came out (I usully go to the loo rather than wait until morning).
