Prince Harry - death threats

As soon as we heard that he would be serving, my DF and I looked at eachother and said "you know whats going to happen there dont you!"

Its bloody stupid, if they send him out and he is captured he will be tortured and paraded more than anything weve seen so far, he must know this - hes obviously a very brave young man who wants to fight for his country but seriously, someone should stop him.

Once he goes and gets captured, it will jsut give the british government more amunition to step up the war efforts - my cynical side wonders if poor harry is being used as a pawn in a very dirty game.

huh. that really isnt good is it.

as you say ggg if he gets captured then all hell will break loose.

Didnt Harry demand that he went and fought with his troops? As far as i am aware they tried to stop him from going.

If thats true, then he really is a very brave young man who obviously takes after his mum. I just hope it doesnt end badly for him.

Though on the positive side, can you imagine the boost in moral here if he comes back?

I dont agree that's its a bad thing for him to serve. What the hell was the point of spending thousands of pounds on his training if it wont be used? He choose to join the services just like every other soldier in Iraq. Being prince Harry shouldn't give him special treatment. To be honest if the armed forces cant give him the protection he needs then it doesn't say much for the quality of our army does it! We apparently have one of the best armed forces in the world I'm pretty sure they can keep one person relatively safe.

Prince Andrew fought in the Falklands, he flew helicopters and the Argentinian forces said they were going to target him too. Its about propaganda.

i bet they will regret sendin him out if al queda do get hold of him??

They will probably set it up so that he does get caught, to create some havoc.

I see your point & agree that if you join the forces you know you may have to go to war & fight but if he does & the army are constantly rallying round to ensure he's safe, surely it defeats the object of why he's there. They & him keep saying he wants to be a 'normal' soldier, the matter of fact is he isn't & never will be because he his a prince, there's no way round that.
I expect at the end of the day he'll be fine & they are just that 'threats' but I wouldn't want to be in his shoes knowing I am a target. Scary stuff.

I have a feeling his mum will be looking out for him, I agree the army shouldnt have to worry about keeping him safe and if he wants to be treated as a normal soldier he should be, but as you say - theres no getting away from the fact that he is not a normal soldier, he is a prince.

It reminds me of people who strive for fame and then complain about the media attention, not that I think he would complain but how can he expect to be treated like any other average joe in the army?

you guys really think they'll put him in danger

they'll have 99% of the army watching his back before they let it happen...

if he's in the army then he should serve...other men lives are in danger so should his.. he wants to be 'normal' dont he?

I hope 99% of the army aren't watching him  This is the whole point tho. No they won't want anything nasty to happen to him & probably will make sure he's out of harms way, so why send him in the first place?
