You would think i would know this but as i only had a baby ten week ago but my friend is due to have a baby boy in two weeks and im stuck as what to buy her, well i have an idea but want opinions....

She told me she has got everything and loads of clothes so not to buy any more, which i understand as i got loads,
so i thought about getting a little basket and putting things for 'new mum' in there... things like tea tree oil which helps heal when you add it to your baths (was a life saver for me) and is antiseptic, but im 1. stuck on what else to put in and 2. do you think she would find that a bit strange? i dont have much money but would really love ideas of what you wish you had!! xx

I think a basket is a lush idea

U can put maybe

Baby wipes (I used these after going to te loo instead of bog roll as kept it cleaner)

Tea tree oil

Arnica (good for bruising and healing)

Maybe some choccies she can have to treat herself

A photo frame ( for a photo of her LO)

Lovely idea.

How about some healthy snacks/meals to help keep her energy up?

Earplugs.......or... someone got me a gel filled eye mask it was lush when your eye bags are on the floor you fall asleep with it on and wake up feeling lush. I agree with the arnicva suggestion it helped me heal both times.

My sister bought lo a box that says born in 2012 with a photo frame and money box in, she bought the same for my eldest and it now has things like his 1st sleepsuit and his first shoes in. I love it.

maybe something for her

my friend got me all the things i love but wasnt able too have during pg

she got me all my fav chocolate cos was off all dairy just lookin at it made mme vomit then my fav wine n cheese n crackers . n little things non baby related

I made a lovely nappy cake for my sister and a basket of goodies which included chocs and pink 'champagne' as she had a girl. Nappy cakes are very easy, loads of tutorials online and really useful as everything in it is needed and used, both mummy and baby get something! I filled the bottles hidden in the middle with sweets!

keep em coming ladies all good ideas! xx

Chocolates, face mask, concealer, hair bands, hairbrush, arnica, biscuits, little snack bits she can have on the quick!

I'm loving this thread, my sis is due 25th April & my BF is due may 9th so I'm.gonna probably pinch your idea xx

How about a good read baby book? My SIL has lent me Jools Olivers and it's a nice read, from ttc problems to pregnancy and baby. I've also just ordered top 10 tips from the baby whisperer.

xx

Steal away!
So my idea is so far, im going to use the spare nappies Alice has outgrown to make a nappie cake thing (there unopened!) and then in a basket im going to put in tea tree oil, eye mask, chocolate's, a little bottle of wine, a home made voulcher for one evenings babysitting (for when he is old enough) and arnica.
What do you girls think? xx

Sounds like great present to me!

So i just need the ribbon for the cake and i have decided that the cake alone will be loads so just doing that, plus i dont really have much money, so i got a blue baby towel and mitt and used them for the center of the cake, then on top i have a hard baby book and a pair of newborn sock shoes (both from the pound shop ssshhh!) Im going to post a pic when i get the ribbon tomorrow xx
