I want to get her something from the baby when she meets it but she'll only be about 20months so I really don't know what to get. Something meaningful that she could keep would be nice but the idea is to help her bond with it so maybe a toy that she'll be excited about?

Has anyone else done this before for the babies sibling? I would love to hear some ideas :)

Im doing the same hun. read it in a magazine a few weeks back it helps with bonding.
Im getting my son a teddy bear to her saying 'worlds best little sister'' so he can wrap it up and give it to her.
and going to get a presants from the baby to joe a teddy that says 'worlds best big brother' :)

That's actually a really good idea. She'll still be a big sister if it's a boy or girl lol. Nice, thanks!

I have always done this, it's a great idea xxx

i have always done this and i just get a toy and a card saying congratualtions on becoming a big brother/sister, we have kept all the cards my eldest has got 4 and will have 5 lol. also they pick something for the baby aswell an outfit a teddy a balloon anything that they pick themselves. I found it was the cards that they really liked my family got them aswell so when they brought a card and present round for baby they also brought the others a card and they loved it.

I have always done this too, it's great. as well as something to keep, I always got a sticker /activity book too and wrapped up from baby to older child , as if small you will really appreciate the sticker book when visiting time and hubby wants to stay a bit longer but younger child is playing up /noisy on the ward, it can buy you some time!

The kids are all bringing in a small soft toy this time, poor Devon's cot will be crowded!

We have the cow and gate freebie cow from Rhys
We have the Polar Bear (another milk comp freebie) from Briony
and the mothercare elephant (from Devons stocking!) from Toby

They all chose which one they wanted to give him.

JJ that is so sweet all bringing a teddy each! I don't think my daughter would actually give the baby the teddy though, she would want to keep it lol
