Present ideas for an 8 year old??

Hi all,
Our niece will be 8 next week and we are stuck for present ideas for her. She said that "anything will do, she doesn't mind" but I know that come the big day she will mind.
Please please help, I have no idea what to get her.

well paris is 7 and she loves making things, like friendship bracelets and sand art, anything like that. She's still into bratz too

my little'ist is eight and she only wanted money for her Birthday as she wanted to buy a Nintendo DS .. So people put coins in her Birthday card and she was well happy .. Most people put eight one pound coins in some in the shape of a number eight too ..
