Birthday present for an 8 year old girl.

Well I haven't been on here for a long long time but I really need some help!

I am seeing a guy who has a daughter who will be 8 next weekend and i'm really stuck on what to buy her. I want something unusual as I don't like getting normal stuff! But I just don't know what to get. I just want her to love whatever I get! Any ideas???

is she into animals? If so could you sponsor an animal at a local zoo for her so it's close enough for her to go visit.... and maybe arrange the visit on her birthday or close to it.

I did this for my niece when she was 10 and she loved it!

Bead making kit (no parent will thank you for this gift )
One of those overhead projectors where the kids can draw on them.
Make up sets
Clothes that are "in fashion mum".. (*sniggers*)
A watch because she is learning to tell the time at school.

This year is a short list.

But Tia is very much a girly girl... and 8 year olds have very specific tastes... So try and find out if she is a girly girl, tom boy etc as Urchin said...
