Pregnant again, early scan?

Im pregnant again after having a miscarriage. Its a mixed bag of emotions. Mostly Im happy, and I feel like things are fine (I feel more like the first time I was pregnant with my son, my last pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage felt more off in a way, felt sicker too). But there is still a small part of me that is worried. Are things really gonna be fine or not. I think I wanna do an early scan this time to sort of ease my mind. Anyone here who has done that? How early Can you do a scan / is it a point to doing a scan? Last time I had a scan when I was supposed to be 8 weeks(because of bleeding), but the sac was empty and the size og a 6 week fetus.

I’m going to hold off until 8 weeks. I figure the longer the better as there will be more to see and if everything looks ok then the chances (in theory) are higher if it being ok. I can’t wait until 12 weeks though, that’s too long! X

Yeah. I absolutely couldn’t wait til 12 either. So have one booked for six weeks. And I might then book a private one for nine weeks if I’m still being a total worrywart

I did the same with my daughter pretty much akua, I had one at 7 weeks then 10 and that helped on the lead up to my 12 week scan x

I had one at 5+5 which only really confirmed it for me,
then 7+5 That was amazing as i saw a little jelly bean in there, and it was the furthest id seen on a scan
Private one at 10+4 which yet again was amazing as i couldn't wait for my 12 week scan
Then I had

21+2 ( gender scan which they got wrong haha )
26 growth scan and correct gender
then i had a 4D yesterday but he was hiding his face so i have another on the 4th.
Honestly you cant ever have enough. If you feel like you want a scan you go girl!
Its your piece of mind at the end of the day x

Tbh, 3 scans at 6 weeks showed 3 of my miscarriages were perfectly fine. 8 weeks they were gone or sac was still here but no longer a HB. The other 3 I didn't have scans. (all paid for privatly)
With my daughter I had a scan weekly from 6 weeks till 12 weeks, big difference lol.
With my son every 2 weeks from 6-12 weeks.

Same as PB, With all my Mc my 5-6 week scans all showed okay,
Past that was more reassuring.

Here in Aus they routinely do a 7 week scan. Usually if baby is going to stop growing early on, it'll happen just after 6 weeks. If you can see a 7 week baby with a heartbeat on a scan, your miscarriage odds drop dramatically. Hold out until 7 because at 6 it'll probably look fine even if it's not.

I don't want to be a spoilsport, but I paid for a private scan at 10 weeks. Could see a heartbeat, baby flexing and moving about. Then at my dating scan at the hospital, I was told baby had died at 10wks 5 days.

This sucks and seems mean of me for saying, but I let myself get so excited at the reassurance scan only for it to end badly for me.

Having said that, it's a different experience for everyone, and you need to do what is right for you

I think it's good. Earliest you can go is 5 weeks, you won't see much but you will see the sac and for me it was a lot as I was really worried that I might have ectopic pregnancy. 6.5-7 weeks you can see the heartbeat.
I had mmc at 11+4 and I don't regret having them early scans and seeing little heartbeats. But I guess it could be very upsetting experience.

I was like you with my first pregnancy, I went till 28Weeks and lost my baby. (I even had a scan the day before, everything was okay)

Now I am currently pregnant with my 2nd baby, I am currently 9W and 6D.
With this pregnancy, I have had 2 scans already
My first scan was a reassurance scan to see if I was pregnant for real, I had this done at 5Weeks.
My second scan I had at 7Weeks this was to make sure the baby was fine and growing, at this one I also seen the baby’s heartbeat witch was amazing.
I am going for my 13Weeks scan on the 13TH sept, I can’t wait for that one!

I had my scan at 9 weeks 4 days, it was a wonderful experience. I felt a sigh of relief when I saw the baby, and the doctor said everything looked fine. Im not almost 11 weeks now, so Im starting to feel more reassured (of course one can never be totally sure, things could go wrong at any point, but statistically the risk of miscarriage etc. is fairly low at this point after seing the heartbeat).
