Hi all,

I just had a positive test (or 3) yesterday, 4 days before my period was due.

I had a miscarriage on 10 August at 10+4.

I'm obviously nervous about this pregnancy. Will I be offered an early scan for this pregnancy, given what happened with my last?

Congratulations! Im so pleased for you. I know how devasting it is. I had mmc at 10+3 and just waiting for spotting to stop before we ttc again. Hoping to catch. Ive ready people that conceive quickly after a mc are more likely to carry a healthy baby to term. The odds are really in your favour but totally understand why youre nervous. But a massive congratulations. Gives the rest of us who have had mc's hope. As for early scan it really depends on area. My MW said she would offer me an early scsn if i becsme pg again. You can always ask and say because your are very nervous? x

Hi so sorry for your loss but congratulations for your rainbow! We had a loss in June and conceived again two cycles later,I wasn't offered an early scan but paid for a private one at 7 weeks to try and relax me. Fingers crossed all is well this time. I'm sure if you said how nervous you were they would give you one. I did have one at 9 1/2 weeks as had bad cramps so phoned them and they were more than Happy for me to go in given previous loss and worry, was such a relief seeing everything was OK. Hope the next few weeks pass quickly for you its horrible waiting for 12 week scan xx

I know I don't think I could wait 12 weeks.
I'll ask the question, no harm in that. If not, I think I'll pay for the early too.

Congrats on your pregnancy!! X

If you look online i found a private clinic offering early scans for £50....but it can be as much as £100 so definately worth asking x

Just had a wee look, I can get it for £49 so if I don't get it through the NHS, I'll definitely do that x :D

Thats a good price....see if nhs can offer you one and save your money for baby things xx

Ask your GP if you can be referred to Early pregnancy. Some will do for 1 previous but some are 2 previous I had a mc in april so definitely wanted a scan for a bit of reassurance. Congrats on your BFP, Fingers crossed for a sticky rainbow x

Sorry to hear of your mc but congrats on the bfp! It's unlikely in my experience you'll get an early scan unless you have any unusual symptoms. As the others said a private scan is a good plan and well worth the money. £49 is really good, also try searching your local places on FB as a lot of them have regular offers. Maybe good for any future private ones you want if not now x

Wee update... phoned the midwife today and got referred for early scan straight away. Was rather easy, must have a more relaxed healthboard. Get my reassurance scan on 26th, and booking in appointment on 23rd x

Congratulations! I got pregnant a month after my miscarriage, and everything went fine. I now have a lovely little man.

Sorry for your loss, and congratulations!!
I lost my first at 12weeks, because of that we booked an early scan this time and to my surprise a couple of days later we got an NHS scan appointment for 9 weeks, I wasn't expecting one until 12 weeks again. So there is a possibility, especially if you have concerns.
We declined the 9 weeks scan because we had one the week before (everything was perfect!) and rebooked for 12w. We are now 16w3d with a perfect little boy!!
