Do any of you ladies happen to know of any good pregnancy books? I would like to buy one that I can refer to thanks :D

I have 'The Pregnancy Bible' and Miriam Stoppards 'Conception, Pregnancy & Birth' which are both excellent. A friend has also lent me a copy of 'Birth & Beyond' by Yehudi Gordon, which is also good. The Yehudi Gordon once is the most scientific - I think overall 'The Pregnancy Bible' is the best of the three.

I have Mariam Stoppards "Conception, pregnancy and birth". I have found it very useful so far.

I have The Pregnancy Bible By Anne Deans I thought it was excellent.

I also have the "pregnancy Diary" and its been great, you can check out every week of your babies development and its very interesting and informative.....

To throw a different spin on things I also bought "The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth" but Kaz Cooke - its absolutely hilarious, yet informative at the same time, but makes everything seem a little more lighthearted which at times is just what I have needed!

"The Rough Guide to Pregnancy and Birth" by Kaz Cooke is fab, I was recommended it from a forum and love it. I have a few other books that have been given to me by friends but they are no way near as good.

This book is written by a "normal" person, and is very informative. My fave things about it is it goes week by week, so every week I read a new chapter.

I've got this too and it certainly lives up to its name. I especially like the week by week account of how your baby develops...that is fascinating.

I have the Pregnancy Bible and I love it. I also have What To Expect When You're Expecting which is ok

Thanks ladies! I will buy one soon but not just yet as I am scared that I will jinx things, is that stupid or what?

Fully understand your 'jinxing it' comment. I ordered the pregnancy bible off the internet after a recommendation from Hannah on here and half an hour later saw brown blood in my pants. My initial thought was that I'd jinxed myself!

I know what you mean, can't seem to stop myself from being completely paraniod no matter how much I am trying. It's like, one half of me is over the moon at getting my bfp and the other half is thinking, hey slow down Cheryl, it could all be over soon :( I know it's silly to depress myself but I am so scared.

Gonna order me the Pregnancy Bible, will probably just buy it off eBay as I am tight. Going to get the OH the "Blokes Guide To Pregnancy" too.

I found it cheaper on play.com (in the used section) than on ebay
Mine was £16 (free delivery) and on ebay when I looked the cheapest was £20 plus postage

You're right, just checked.

Mommmyyyyyy, I want another present

My book 'your preganancy bible' arrived today - quite heavy so must be comprehensive.
I need to catch up on the last 8 weeks. So far I've read the chapter on conceiving - reads like it's really hard to conceive, glad I was oblivious to that bit! But I'm recorded as having 'spontaneously conceived' by the midwife this morning - no mention of that in my book.
