Pre eclampsia...anyone know anything?

Just wondering if anyone here has had/got pre eclampsia and what are the symptoms?

I had protein in my urine for my last 2 midwife appts (8weeks ago and 3weeks ago) And lately i have been getting spots/stars in my eyes which i thought was anemia and i have been getting pains in my upper abdomen that i have got for a few weeks but at 1st i was linking it to babys position but sunday and yesterday night i had the pains quite bad no matter what i done they wouldnt go and then after about 4hours it wen, but i felt really sick with the pains, but walking back from the school this morning i started getting pains again. Does it sound like it could be? x

Hey hon, I don't have any experience with this but think you should call your mw if concerned. They can check you over quite easily - blood pressure etc and hopefully put ur mind at rest xxx

My BP has always been normal/good. Iv got my GTT friday and im wondering if they could do my blood pressure there as i dont really want to bother the midwife and its just me being silly. Iv got midwife next thursday and dont really want to contact them before that plus i havent been given a number for them :S But i no if i get it again tonight my OH will phone up the hospital x

Have you any swelling chick? Tbh if you're worried or concerned i'd call your MW today and not wait just in case. Hopefully its nothing to worry about. Why don't you want to speak to you MW until next week? xx

There are normally 3 main things Swelling, high BP and protein in the urine. Although 2 pointers will make them sit up and take notice.

I had high BP which was being monitored during last few months, woke one morning all swollen (hands, face & feet) so they checked my water for protein. They did find protein but not at a serious level so don't worry if they've picked some up in your water xx

I have had swelling in my feet and hands but i had it in my hands since i had my daughter but i no thats normal pregnancy stuff aswell. Im going out with my SIL today so ill see if shes got the midwifes number and ill call her. Thanks x

I called the midwife yesterday before i went out and they said it must just be that the baby is breech and pushing upwards. Im having my 4d scan saturday so if hes not breech and i get the pains again ill be contacting midwife again x

I had pre-eclampsia when I was pregnant with my son. I didn't feel like there was anything going on. I just had protein in my urine and high blood pressure, but felt absolutely fine the whole time. No pains or stars for me.

Thanks, scan showed he is breech and his head is right under my ribs and hes on my right side, the sonographer seemed concered tho she said " i really hope he turns head down for you" but i no its normal for them to be breech around now, but i dont think my daughter ever was breech i think she laid accross me most of the time and was head down for ages. Just want him to go head down now, im petrified of having a csection x

Thursday but they arent monitoring what position hes in or even his size. i just go have my BP taken my wee checked babies heart heard and then im off lol x

I had pre-e in my last pregnancy. I never had any swelling, my BP was high at times but nothing too extreme.
However, i had huge amounts of protein in my urine and they decided to induce me 5 weeks early.
I never had anything show up in my blood results but they didn't want to take a chance, especially as i was carrying twins.
