Been really racking my brain for boys names and ive come up with one that i kind of like :x

Dylan Thomas

The only thing is Dylan can be shortened to dill or dilly which i hate and rhyme with silly and willy  Im Always on the look out for potential teasing with names, do you see this as a problem or am i just over reacting? lol x

I like the name but you do know it's the name of a poet?

I wouldn't worry about teasing, as long as it's not an obviously silly name. Kids always find nicknames somehow...

OMG, Dylan Thomas is a name that I've been batting around my head for the last week!

I love it, and didn't realise it was a poet!

I'm going for Mason. The worst it can be shortened to is Mace which I don't mind!

I didnt have a clue it was a poets name! Oh well, I dont mind, at least its not a strippers name or something haha x
My friend said her sons friend got called dildo :-(

I think that is a lovely name. x

lovely name, and very old , very famous , good poet , so no worrys there - go for it

I have kids 13,11 and 10, and no way that would get shortened to Dilly in my eyes.

I love Dylan but our friends called there daughter it do now it's off the table for me. They shorten to Dilly but I think that's because she's a girl, I've never heard a boy called Dylan have there name shortened.
I would choose a different middle name as I'd hate the poet reference all the time but I guess that's personal preference & depends if your circle know who his is.
Overall love the name!

Thank you :) im not completely sure on it yet. I like the name Thomas but not sure it fits in with myother childrens names as its very traditional. Also my youngests name begins with T. My kids names are Morgan, Chanelle, and Tristan.x

ive been thinking of calling mine Mason too! I like the sound of the name but the only thing im not sure of is it means 'stone worker' which isnt the most beautiful of meanngs :s but i love how it sounds :D xx

My alternative was Cameron which means crooked nose lol so I opted for stone worker over that

My l/o is Cameron, I just choose to ignore that it means crooked nose! luckily he doesn't have a crooked nose ;)

I wouldn't worry about Dylan being shortened, there will most likely be more children with names that lend themselves far more easily to teasing (not that that's the point) but if you love the name, you should go for it. Dylan is such a cute name and if he gets called Dilly or Dill he won't blame you and I'm sure it won't stick. Kids will always find a way to be mean anyway if they really want to. It also doesn't seem like a name, that if it did lend itself to teasing, would carry on past the early years of primary school.

My little brother is called dylan and sometimes for a laugh his mates will call him dildo. So if you are scared of bad nicknames i dont think dylan is a safe option, trust a sister who can think of nicknames upon nick names to tease her little brother with lol..

Im going for Jackson Mason or Carson I like the "sons" lol xxxx

I like it hun. We've chosen Max Dylan, as Dylan is OH middle name xxx
