Hi girlies,

Posted this in ask a Mum too, but thought someone on here may have the same thing.........

Wondering if any of you lovely ladies had Polyhydramnios during your pregnancies?

I have just found out I have it and after doing some research I must admit I'm freaked baby has something majorly wrong with her :(

I have heard it can also mean nothing and baby just has an extra big swimming pool but I'm so scared that there is something wrong with her kidneys or tummy or they may have missed some defect on the 20 week scan.....

Help! Any of your stories good or bad if you have experienced this would be appreciated....

Thanks!

Hi Cleo

I found out the same thing about 4 weeks ago and it totally freaked me out too. I was constantly doing research on the internet and then regretting it afterwards, as thereis some scary stuff out there.

I have had a few extra scans but that was mostly due to the fact I developed O.C aswell but thats how they found out I had excess water , they havent sent me for specialised scans but I voiced my concerns to my consultant and she reassured me that 9/10 times there is no real reason for the extra water and baby is absolutley fine. It did make me feel better, but we are naturally still going to worry.
All I can do is send you lots of these -

i have it found out at 35 weeks im am now 41+5 i did what you did searched the internet and it was a bad move as i freaked out so much that i was in tears all the time till i went for my scan i was told they couldnt find a reason for it but they would check babys throat when born just to make sure that there isnt a blockage as was told baby wees then pees to keep level stable or it could just be your carrying to much water the only problems i have is that my bump is very heavy im confined to the house as i cant walk properly and i was due to have a sweep last week but i couldnt have one as baby will not engage so i have to be induced on thursday

Thanks for your replies ladies.....

Julie - Gosh sounds like your having a worse time then me and here I am feeling sorry for myself!! You poor thing

Hopefully the scan on tuesday tells me more but I do feel re-assured knowing I'm not the only one out there with this condition.......

I hope your Induction goes well Julie and     right back at ya Kerry, I'm sure our LO's will be just fine.....damb google.....
