Pnd doc appointment

Well girls, I have my health visitor appointment today and my doctors appointment, I really thanks everyone for their comments to me, I know I'm not alone I'll let you know what happens and hopefully I can help some of you x

Well my appointment was interesting the guy just didn't care, he looked at the notes my hv left and said so what's wrong with you? I was like em... I'm here so you can tell me.
Doctor : are you depressed
Me : I'm not my usual self
Doctor : so is it psd?
Me : I'm here to find that out.
Doctor : so will you hurt your baby
Me : ( shocked ) NO of course not.
Doctor : okay I'll put you forward for counselling if it gets drastically worse you can go to A and E.

The fact my hv already took a questionnaire with me and I got 20/30 which isn't good I'm assuming that's why the doctor didn't do one but then again he was tryin to rush me out the door probably wouldn't have done one anyway.

Well counselling is the next step for me and at least it will b people who know what I'm going through and not some abnoxious doctor.

That's awful. Tbh, I think you should go back to your HV and tell them what the doctor was like.

On another note I cant recommend counselling enough for pnd. Did he say how fast you'd be able to get it? I know some trusts have a really long waiting list. X

Well he said that they'd get it touch ASAP, but if I have no word by next week I'll go to another doctor and talk to my HV. X

Well according to my hv today it will b months to get an counselling appointment :/ don't know what I'm going to do I'm falling apart today.

Can you not ask them to come round to you...the HVs that is. Mine came round every 2 weeks for an hour or two for about 3/4 months. I called it my counselling but it was pretty much him coming round and listening to me rant and reassuring me about things and finding out what the root of it was. Ask if there are any groups in your area too, as there might be somewhere where other mums are feeling the same so you can have peer support.
