Playboy stuff for girls?

i voted no
because of all the sexual connotation behind it.
even i wouldn't wear it and i'm 22! i also think the bratz look slightly slutty

I personally think Barbies are just as disgusting as Bratz... I don't see a vast amount of difference in the dolls...

Tia constantly asks me if she will grow up to look like Barbie... in that hopeful manner... to which I reply if she ever did grow up to look like Barbie, she'd never get a boyfriend because she would look like a freak... :rotfl: :rotfl: Well it's true... If my legs looked like her's at the top they would preform plastic surgery to put it right...

But these dolls, no matter how innocent looking, are affecting the way our daughters see themselves, but you can't stop them having them... *sigh* just hope you can instill in them core believes about themselves and give them confidence.

I suppose its different for me because I have started to see how these Bratz and Barbie DVD's, dolls etc... are affecting my daughter's self view of herself and her body... and I really feel for her...

Thats why I love the ugly dolls, they are giving kids the message that it doesn't matter what you look like!!!!

i dont think its right.

Although the whole 'playboy' thing like the bedsheets, earings, minifridges have nothing to do with like porn or anything. Its just a brand, i dont think people think sex when they see it. TBH i just think tacky rubbish when i see playboy things in magazines! Its like a seperate thing to actual 'playboy'. If that makes sence?

Yeah I know what you mean. How did it ever become plastered all over kids stuff anyway? I mean I've never seen a kids bed set or minifridge with razzle or red hot wives written all over it?

I shouldn't mess around, its not funny but it is weird how its become an acceptable symbol to be used for kids stuff when it is blatantly advertising pornography.

shame, I kinda liked you aswell...

only joking :rotfl:

did your friend fall off a motorbike? He looks a bit bashed up!

I might be wrong here but also why is it just girls things and not boys?
There are no things like this aimed at young boys from what I know. I've got an 11 year old and there is no way he would be getting a Playboy quilt or whatever.

Not that he'd be interested anyway he's Dr Who crazzzzyy

Theres a huge gender difference on the market nowadays...

Things for boys are aimed at keeping them young for as long as possible (and to anyone who actually lives with an "adult" male will know that this is NOT a good thing to encourage in the male species)...

Things for girls are aimed at making them grow up as quickly as possible and become promiscuous... which also isn't particularly a good thing

I like my little girl being innocent to the ways of the world... I think it's important.. She's still little and needs time to explore her imagination and wonder... not be thrown into an adult world where playboy tshirts and pole dancing lessons are the done deal...

She should still be playing with Barbie dolls, talking to imaginary friends, believe that Prince Charming will come and marry her in a big white wedding... she only has just a handful of years of that wondrous life before the big bad world comes descending down around her and destroys her hopes and dreams...

Sorry does that sound like I'm bitter in some way :rotfl:

No i totally agree with you Squiglet.

When i was little i played Cindy with my friends and made perfume out of flowers. My mum wouldn't even let me have my socks pushed down when that was in fashion let alone wear a Playboy T Shirt.

Eeek finding out sex of baby on Friday if it's a girl she will be a nun!

My boyfriend at 15 had a PlayBoy quilt. I'm not sure it's sexual marketing as much as evolution of the brand.

I remember boys being into Playboy (merchandising not just mags  ) 15 years ago as girls are into it now, but it was the old white rabbit on black then :?

But boys are bombarded with toys and merchandise promoting aggression, violence and generally being macho and powerfull. I don't think men need icons or branding to discover sexuality. I think boys associate power and being manly with anything sexual whereas girls like romance and fairytales. Which makes it even more disgusting that this playboy thing has got anything to do with kids in the first place. I mean who's idea was it??????

It would be nice (for me) if Willow spend her first 25 years in some sort of nunnery, but look who's talking,Miss I-got-pregnant-at-fifteen.On saying that,I have nothing playboy related, never played with abrbies, never liked the colour pink, and was more interested in ponies and climbing trees whilst my peers were drinking weird coloured alchopops and rolling up their school skirts.I mean,my boyfriend basically someone I climbed the rocks down at the beach with, and occasionally kissed for the first two years or so we've been going out.

And who's the first to get up the duff?(and actually keep the baby)

ME.ME!!

Not thats it's on topic but you have to be the most sorted 15yr old I have ever seen. You're with the same bloke you were dating, you're breast feeding, going to school.....lots of 30yr old arn't doing that. Just goes to show that age isn't always everything......When I grow up I wanna be like you

zebrastripes, your sooooo funny. :rotfl:

I hate to see little girls dressed up like little adults. Let them be kids.

And I had to see girls in secondary school going to school looking like hookers. Rosie in corrie is an example. Let children grow up in their own time.

God Im old.

I find Playboy merchendise tacky. Having said that, I do own a Playboy watch which I got for my 18th birthday. And it's not a hideous big pink thing it's a plain silver watch which I found quite different for a Playboy item. I would not encourage my daughter to buy into any of that kind of thing. As Squiglet said I want her to embrace being a child and keep her innocence for as long as possible. I dread to think what these girls end up viewing on the net if they happen to type 'Playboy' into Google or something, but I suppose that's what parental control is for.

Hi

I voted undecided but then i rread all your views and ide have to say no till a certain age and to what age i do not know
