Hi ladies, I was just wondering if anybody has had this. I had the 2nd stage (increta) with my first which means my placenta was embedded in my muscle. After labor I had 9 units of blood transfused as well as plasma. I almost died.

I have my first consultant appointment on Thursday morning. I think I need to have an mri scan at some point but I'll know more Thursday.

If anyone else had this, how are you feeling? I'm coping ok I think cos I figured if I have got it again then at least this time they'll know about it before I hemorrhage severely.
Inn more concerned about my husband, he thought he'd lost me last time. When we found out I was pregnant, the first thing he said was 'i don't want you to die'. We'd been ttc for 18 months!

I had this with my first. Can't believe I've found someone who had it too! I was exactly the same, 9 bags of blood, plasma and fluid and rushed to theatre in an oxygen mask.

I'm not pregnant (just lost a baby) but I too was told I would have consultant monitoring etc. tbh I couldn't stop worrying and it absolutely terrifies me to the point I'm thinking of getting my husband to have the snip :-( I think I'm having quite an extreme reaction tho; before I miscarried my midwife seemed very positive about it all and that close monitoring will be all that would be needed. Good luck Hun xxxxx

thanks baby2sky, it's good to know that there is someone out there that had the same as they told me Increta isn't very common. Do you want to talk about it with someone who understnads?

Everything went so well with the birth and then it just went pear shaped, I even had some toast as instructed by the midwife.. I then went to the loo and I felt like my waters were breaking, the blood just gushed out of me. Then the midwife pressed that panic button thing and next thing I have someone shoving their fist up to my womb which was actually more painful than the labour!!
I was rushed to theatre and they were there hours trying to stop the bleeding and I got really cold, also when they were finished they all just stood around me and stared at my crotch!! I felt so exposed.

We've always wanted 2 kids no matter what but now I'm pregnant again I can't stop thinking about the birth. :(

Hi,

I don't have the condition (or at least, not that I know of) but it's something that really scares me. I've had 2 previous c-sections and now pregnant with twins and so scared as I'm one of those who are high risk to get it.

Apparently, famous presenter Amanda Holden had it with her second pregnancy and that's when I started thinking about the dangers. And it all started one afternoon at the dentist, reading one of those gossip magazines that I hate.

I do hope all goes well.

I had accreta twice with my second and fourth pregnancies. It was diagnosed by mri both times. I did lose a lot of blood both times and found I was in a lot of pain afterwards compared to my other two caesareans without accreta.
