Does anyone suffer from this?

and should i be worried that I am?

As i go on holiday a week today.

ta xx

Oedema/Edema is swelling but pittin edema is when your feet and legs are swollen and if you put pressure on them it leaves indentation for a while. i guess nobody has then as most people have read and run! which is extremely frustrating when im so worried about it :'(

I can't help hun because I also didn't know what it was. Chat to you doc or MW hun, see what they advise? x

Never heard of it Hun, didn't wanna be a reader and runner xx

yeah understandable, I thnk i will book a docs appointment. My MW is lovely but rather useless - im pretty sure she didnt even test my most recent urine sample and my notes have confirmed that she didnt. And my 'fit to fly medical certificate' she gave me is literally hand written on plain white paper, not even headed. So i think i need to see the doctor to get a proper one anyway.

I do worry :( im this swollen and ive still got 3 months left. Scared im going to burst on the plane!

It's excessive swelling usually of the legs - when you press on the legs it leaves a mark from the pressure - hence the pitting part

By the looks of it it can sometimes be linked to pre-eclampsia (any type of swelling can be tho so don't get panicy) I would deffo speak with your Midwife about flying and make sure you are throughly checked over - also find out what you need to do should the swelling get any worse while you are away etc just so that you know how to deal with it.

I would deffo wear support stockings on the plane tho. Lots of rest with your legs higher than your head hun - at least 20 mins at a time. Also the water on holiday may help to ease the fluid retention.

I have never known anyone with it so really do urge you to see your Doctor or Midwife and take notice of the rest periods for your own comfort.

 lol sorry that took me forever and a day to type due to work and some of the info has already been posted.

I don't think you will pop but I can imagine the pressure to be very very uncomfortable x

Haven't got any advice sorry id never heard of it either but from reading what if is I'd have to agree with what the others have said, go see your doctor and get some proper advice and a proper fit to fly certificate. Xxxx

Wear stockings, definitely. Call your GP. And def make sure that you have a decent fit to fly cert. as I know you're going Easy Jet. they didn't check it either way when I went, but the guy on the return journey did ask me how many weeks I was, i was 28 + 5.

xx

ive not heard of it either but id agree with the others who said wear the stockings on the plane.... I was speaking to you on another thread about swelling as i have it to really bad in my hands and i have been given splints to wear really dnt think they doing much though :(
