PITBULL CLAIMS ANOTHER INNOCENT LIFE!

Not all pitbulls are viscious - its the owners that can make them that way but otherwise they are loving and gentle. There are more bites per year from labs and collies believe it or not!

They are trying to pass a law right now in california to KILL all pitbulls in the state regardless of temperament and circumstances. Thats thousands of loved pets being destroyed for no reason, children having to be told thier beloved dog has to be put to sleep, its sick and twisted and shouldnt be allowed.

Have a look here, http://www.sorryagain.com, and please dont assume that all of these amazing dogs are like the handfull that get into the press.

Yes it is heartbreaking what happened to this family, its terrible, but the owners had already had a warning about the dogs behaviour so they obviously knew but didnt care that thier dog had the potential to be deadly - some owners buy these dogs because of thier hard tough image and take great delight in mis-treating them and "toughening them up" - its these sick people who are to blame, not the breed!

Me and Ian sobbed last night seeing that, its in saint Helens, that is where Ian is from, its so horrible, I cry at anything like that now, how can we protect our babies?

Hi

That is a very sad thing, RIP Little Angel,

However i will say the little comment about making dogs illegal is not fair IMO as its not the dog its the way is dog is bought up.
Punish the owner not the dog!
:cheer:

Think I have to agree aswell on the dog thing.

If you bring it up to be viscious it will be, if you bring it up to be loveable it will be, it's like nurtuing a child, your influence impacts how they turn out :)

That man was previously warned about his dog and he did nothing ... that is absoloutely disgusting may it rest on his conscience the rest of his life

I think the little girl was from Warrington and was staying at her nans in St Helens.

Agree with Glitzy, its the owners not the dog especially seeing as they'd had a previous warning over it and appear to have done nothing.

The parents went to pick her up in the small hours but the little girl wanted to stay so they left her, a decision which cost them their daughter. That is particularly heartbreaking :(

Absolutely, the girl's uncle had already been warned about the behaviour of his dog - there's no way it should have been allowed anywhere near a child. We are responsible for our animals, and its awful when that is not taken seriously and someone dies.

Absolutely! Its just a shame that bulls have this tough reputation, which really only stems from thier muscular stout frames, not from thier temperaments as they are naturally very gentle and loving dogs. It just seems that every "tough guy" out there seems to want one of these innocent little dogs to make themsleves seem tougher, and the harder they treat the dogs the harder they think it makes them. Thats the sickness.

Very sad, it is such a shame that these things happen.

I agree that the breed shouldn't all be put down due to one dog, that is like saying that all people should be put down if someone commits murder. If the parents had already been warned it was their responsibility to sort the dog out. If I was warned about my dogs and I had children I would find a suitable home for them without children, it would break my heart to have to do this but I would be protecting my child and the dog as it then wouldn't be in the position where something like this could happen.

Pitbulls ARE ILLEGAL in this country!

So how they had one I have no idea.

There's 4 breeds banned in this country under the Dangoures Dogs Act 1991 and Pit bull is on top of the list.

Go look it up on DEFRA.

Feel sorry for the girl as that dog shouldn't of been in a family home anyway.

i read that the dog was always loving towards to 5 yr old girl but it was said that the fire works for new years eve sent the dog going crazy.

i think none of these dogs can be trusted!

Yes they are illegal, thats true, but thousands are still in loving homes with no problems whatsoever. As I said, and as many seem to agree, its not the dog thats at fault its the owners who treat them badly!!

I bet there were thousands of animals - all kinds of dogs not just bulls, that went a bit crazy with the fireworks. I bet this wasnt the only injury, just the worst one.

The fact is the owner of the dog had already been warned about the dogs behaviour, so it wasnt exactly the perfection of dogness beforehand was it?

The dog had attacked people before in June and had a warning from the council about it.

Should of been taken away then IMOH.

Any dog that is in this country illegaly should be taken away and owners fined as they are BRAKING THE LAW.

any dog can turn. has nothing to do with how they are brought up. we had a rotroller(sp) brought up great. untill i stood on his tail when i was 10! bite me so hard on the arm!
from that day he was gone!

***going for a cigeratte before my hormones get the better of me***
