Probably being silly but I keep reading things that say eat fresh pineapple to bring on labour, so does that mean we should avoid it in early pregnancy? I've been eating lots of it recently and tonight I have a tummy ache, it's got me a bit paranoid about eating it!

You don't need to avoid it, don't worry - it's estimated that you need to eat 7 whole fresh pineapples to have a chance of it getting things going!

I hope not x I eat then quite often x As well as drinking pineapple and coconut juice! xx

Yep and I don't think anyone could eat 7 in one go!!!! ;) I had one the other day and my mouth was sore right through till the next day. So I'm sure it'll be ok. Also it has to be fresh pineapple.
X

That's good! I was thinking maybe it had to be a lot! I only had a few slices last night really, did have a tummy ache all night though!

I was worried about this in Tri 1, but like the other girls said, you would have to eat an awful lot of them! I've been guzzling pineapple juice like crazy, I love the stuff :)

I'm loving fresh pineapple just now so glad it's ok, I won't eat too much though!

I was craving pineapple a few weeks ago and ate almost a whole fresh one....my mouth was so sore, i think there may be a lot of acid in it as it wasn't like that when i had it with yoghurt. That could be what gives you tummy ache. I'm avoiding it now, difficult though as the one i had was lovely!

I heard the same thing about curry and cinnamon... It didnt work when I was pregnant with my daughter

Loving pineapple at the moment too ...bring on the man from del Monte!
