Well I'm just going to get straight to point. I have the most awful piles. They are really painful. The docotr has prescribed me Anusol cream, but they didn.t have it at the pharmacy so have had to order it in and won't be available for collection until tomorrow. I've got a cold pack to sit on, and have been taking ibuprofen, but I was just wondering if anyone has any other tips on how to relieve them pain a bit until I get my prescription tomorrow? x

You poor thing, I dint really know what to suggest hun. I am using anusol but it has taken ages to work. Hope you it works for you xx

I've suffered terribly in pregnancy and am dreading them after. Things that helped included germoloids cream and suppositories (never got on with Anusol - made it worse), bathing them with witch hazel and a drop of tea tree oil, alternating hot and cold packs, and lots and lots of rest. Also, wet wipes for after bowel movements and a daily dose of fybogel. Really sympathise, and can only say the pain DOES pass, but it takes a few days...

I had one massive one after labour too, stuck out past my bum cheeks...... I used the anusol cream insde and out, and sat on hot water bottles all the time. The heat shrinks it lovely! I still have it, but its quite small now, so am going to attempt to push it back in soon! oh the joys.

Thanks for all your replies laides. Glad to report that the anusol has helped with the pain and discomfort. Will give the heat a try for shrinking it thanks Lynds. have also made some diety changes as advised by the mw, so less straining x
