How come I didn't suffer with them during pregnancy and now I have them? Not like there's enough going on downstairs already! Can you get them from giving birth?

Yes I believe you can. Get to the docs pronto for some relief. Or go get some anusol or something for the meantime.

after giving birth to noa i ended up with the biggest piles!! they where like big grapes and rock hard!! i couldnt sit so i ended up sitting on a bag of frozen peas!! Even the hv when she checked me said they where massive!
They went after a couple of weeks tho n i used loads of anusol!

Omg I have this- and I'm in sooo much pain :( I'm using that anusol stuff but I may have to go to docs if it won't get better . It's like razor blades when i do have to go and I had a c section not even a natural ( although did a bit of pushing) !!!

Haha my mum told me after I had Lizzie that when she was watching the birth she could see me pushing piles out and wanted to hold them in for me as she suffers terribly with them after 5 kids! Bless her :)

I still have them but never feel them and don't get any pain so I'm not bothered any more.

Yes all the straining of pushing causes piles unfortunately, this is something i am not looking forward to when i have baby no. 3 xx

Ouch! I'm still sore, hope it don't last too long!

What I'd like to know is, does the strain of birth create piles or does it merely push out what is already there?

I'm sure i didnt have them before unless they just didn't hurt!

Internal hemorrhoids are very common, and I was wondering whether birth just causes them to prolapse...?

Because, if there are no internal piles to start with, I'm not sure they can just appear out of nowhere.

Maybe they were internal, hope they go soon, hurts when I sit! The things we go through for our babies.........

No straining causes them to form, chances are there was nothing there before but childbirth has caused them. Try the creams you can get over the counter but if they are still sore after a month or so go to docs xx
