I'm hoping it's okay for me to write this post about current UK immigration laws, which came into force in 2012. Because I am British, and my female partner is American, she cannot come to move to the UK unless I earn £18,600 per annum. This is impossible being a single mother on a part time wage. I am in the process of contacting my local MP, and raising awareness on the issue to have these laws changed in time for the UK election in May.
