Hi guys, I'm currently 38+2 ftm and having a hell of time of it. I'm so uncomfortable and having pains on and off from last week. Midwife has said to try and be active and walk as much as I can to try to get things going but I'm in so much pain in my pubic bone I can barely walk to the car. Currently dealing with a dose of the flu and tonsilitis as well. Everything just getting me down and I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. Due for next appointment on Wednesday, do you know if I can request a sweep to help get things moving? Xx

Have you had your pelvis checked?
It sounds like spd. I had it badly during my first pregnancy too, it was debilitating!
You can't really do anything except avoid certain movements, and strengthen your pelvic floor.
When you get out of the car, keep both legs together, when you hoover/vacuum try to keep your legs together, use a pillow between your knees and ankles when you go to sleep. When you get out of bed, keep your legs together.
There are lots of tips you can look up but there is no miracle cure. Mine still flares up when I lift too much weight, and my daughter is almost 2 years old. But the worse pain went away a few weeks.
Hang in there, the worst are the last weeks!x

Agree with Kitana, it’s probably SPD. I had it during pregnancy though it was bearable, it got horrific in the first two weeks postpartum so don’t be surprised if it gets worse before it gets better! I’m now 8 weeks pp and it’s been gone since about 5 weeks pp. Do you have a pregnancy pillow that goes between your legs? That helped me at night at least. There are exercises you can do too but really the only cure is giving birth and waiting.

As for a sweep, my hospital policy was that they refused to intervene unnecessarily until the due date. Some docotrs will do them at 38 weeks though, so it can’t hurt to ask.

You’ve only got 10 days until your due date so it will be over very very soon! Even if you go well overdue, you’ll only be pregnant for a maximum of 3 more weeks. The last month is tough but you can do it!
