Hello ladies,
I was wondering for those ladies who have PCOS, did you have any symptoms? I've been TTC for over a year and had no bloody luck, so it started me wondering about PCOS, the thing is I don't really have any of the symptoms. But it's been 13 months now and nothing soooo it's worrying me :(

Hi, I have PCOS, I came off pill, got pregnant within 2/3 cycles, sadly I miscarried that baby, it then it took me 15 months to get pregnant again! I went to dr after my periods were ranging from 27-41 days, I thought it was due to miscarriage, but blood tests came back abnormal so got sent for scan with confirmed PCOS. Only symptoms were weight gain after coming off pill, oily skin and hair, low mood. The pill was masking all my symptoms. If you have been trying for over a year, I would go to the dr and ask for blood test to check hormone levels and go from there xx

Hi, I didn't have any symptoms at all and only got diagnosed because I couldn't get pregnant.

However, although my periods were regular, they were every 24 days which I think is a little too often. I also used to get spotting (which started black or brown but over time turned heavy and bright red) for up to 2 weeks before my period. Some months I would only not be bleeding for one day, so I knew something wasn't right - I just didn't know what. X

Hey ladies thanks for that input. I really want to lose some weight before seeing the doctor a friend of mine recently went as she was struggling getting pregnant she's been trying a year already and they told her they wouldn't help for another year until she'd lost weight. I definitely have at least 2 stone to loose. They did test for PCOS but only because she demanded it. I would feel totally humilatated if they say that to me.

My periods range from 28-31 days and are all normal I've only had one which was a bit funny but other than that. I have been emotional recently but that's all.

Oh yeah I used to have 5 days of spotting before my period actually began. I went to a nutritionist 3 months before my BFP and sorted my diet out and to get healthy. x

Well I've started my weight loss, after Christmas I'm doing this 90 day lean thing. It's meant to be quite good and he teaches you about good fats proper diet etc so maybe that will help. I once had spotting 5dpo but nothing came of it apart from my period was I think 7 days late but all BFN's :/ xxx

PCO is something that can give you every classic symptom under the sun to none at all so there really is no way of knowing for sure without scans and blood tests. I've replied to your other thread too.

If you go to your GP they will test for a range of things. Hormone abnormalities would most likely indicate PCOS and then you would take that further. However, most trusts now won't do any testing until you've been trying for 2 years. I'd make an appointment anyway and see what they say!

I don't think they realise how long 2 years is for people that are trying, it's most annoying. Yeah I think I'm going to have to go. If there is a problem I guess it's better to know about it xxx
