Hi there, me again!
I was just wondering what the symptoms of PCOS are? My cycles are a little screwed up and I'm not sure if it's down to the pill still being in my system (though I came off it in April) or if there is an underlying problem such as PCOS. I wondered if anyone who suffers from this could let me know what the symptoms are, if they don't mind and if they don't think I'm being insensitive.
Thanks!

Hi KeLe101,

My gyno told me today that I have PCOS. :( The only symptom that I had was irregular periods. To be honest PCOS had never even entered my mind as a cause. I like you recently came off my pill, well I stopped in Dec 07, and thought that it was still my pill hovering in my system, just goes to show though.

I am trying not to worry about it too much and in a way I am happy that I finally have an answer to why my periods were always so irregular. See your gyno if your concerned. Good Luck and I hope your ok!

xx

Hiya,

My symptoms were acne, excess body hair (I have to tweeze my chin and wax my 'happy trail'...*sigh*), VERY absent periods (didn't have one for almost a year at one point), very long periods when I did have them, really bad cramps, SERIOUS sugar cravings, gaining weight quickly and having trouble losing it. PCOS is also frequently synonymous with blood sugar irregularities and problems and also hypothyroidism. You can get blood tests done to check these last things, and if you are found to have trouble with any of them, you can go and have an ultrasound done to confirm the problem.

Hope things get sorted out for you, hon!
