So finally diagnosed with pcos today after 2.5 years of ttc. I knew this would be the case despite having pretty regular cycles I have lots of other symptoms. They are ready to start me on clomid - as soon as I lose 2.5kg. Now I know this is not a lot and I can do it but feeling just a tiny bit down about it. Am determined to lose the weight before Xmas and in time to start clomid on my next cycle (currently cd5). So really it's all quite good news - ignore self pitying comments above! Looking forward to joining the clomid thread asap.

That's good that you finally have something to work on! My husband and I have put weight on over summer and i don't think that will be helping my pcos so we are starting a meal replacement diet to get some off. I know this isn't the best way to diet long term but we are doing it to get the first stone off, might be something for you to consider to help? Or weight watchers?

Look into secret diet drops they're awesome x

Am thinking weight watchers - I have most of the books and can do it without joining again. Mostly am planning to eat sensibly and exercise lots. Joined the gym again last week anyway. Will see how it goes. Thanks for the support x

Hey hon - sorry to hear about your diagnosis, I've been there and know it isn't easy! Give yourself some space and time to come to terms with it.

In terms of weight loss - there are tons of really good websites about good diets for pcos. Google one called pcos diet support or something like that which I have found really useful. Avoiding sugar is the most important thing, better to have healthy fats in your diet. Regular exercise also really important. Try to eat lots of fresh fruit and veg rather than processed food.

Good luck! Xxx

Thanks. I will have a look at pcos diets. I hope losing a few pounds won't be too hard. It's all part of my wedding dress diet too - 6 months to go until that day.

A wedding dress and a baby sound like the perfect things to spur on that weight loss!

It's excellent that you have a diagnosis, albeit it's not easy, but great that they will start you on treatment soon!

My sis in law has lost 38lbs in the last 8 months through weight watchers and looks amazing. I've never tried it but she's a total convert.

Good luck.xxxx

Thanks Mishi and congratulations again. Am keeping everything crossed for your healthy pregnancy xx

I'm glad in a way there's a reason for you. Good luck with getting rid of the 2.5kg, and here's to a happy new clomid year and a nice bfp for you. X

Good luck shedding that 2.5kg, I'm sure you will easily do it with those incentives :) Then good luck with clomid!
