Well normally I lead a very active lifestyle, I have a demanding job in which I work shifts, and my main hobby in my free time is keeping fit - cycling, running (begrudgingly), swimming etc etc

Now I find myself heavily pregnant, signed off work with severe SPD and bored out of my tree! I have been kept occupied with Wimbeldon and the Olympics (if you can't join em, watch em), but now thats nearly over, I'm wondering what I'm going to do for the next 8-10 weeks.

I've got severe mobility issues, on crutches to get about the house, can't drive, outside of the house I'm in a wheelchair.

Hubster is going back to work on Monday (he's a teacher) so I'm going to be at home all day on my own (yes a bit of forward planning would have been better on my part!) The lazier I am the lazier I get.

I've suddenly realised with the effect of an acme anvil landing on my head that I spend all day hitting refresh on PF and watching TV ... my brain cells are melting away.

So today I ordered a beginners cross stitch thingy (never done it) and a paint by numbers kit (I like arts and crafts but have zero talent)

I can knit - but can't read a pattern for toffee and can only do that one basic stitch you learn in needlework

Apart from that - I'm looking for other ideas to occupy my time

Are all yr photos sorted into albums? What about writing short stories on the lap top? U have a few things lined up but it must be hard hon Xx

I read (I have a kindle which is invaluable), find Pinterest projects to carry out and watch documentaries.

Might sound cheesy but I started writing a diary for the girls while pregnant ? Organised photo albums , read an awful lot , and made a baby blanket x

Ooh! That's lovely! You can get all sorts of things, like the 100 year diary and such to fill in :)

I thought it will be nice to give to them when they are older I still write bits in them now

All lovely suggestions ... Shame I'm not very creative! Lol

I tried doing a diary but was pants

My cross stitch kit came today ... With zero instructions so I'm
Making it up but enjoying it all the same

I love my kindle too Ljy struggling to get "stuck into" a book at the minute. Think I just need some trash to read ... Something similar to the shopaholic series ... So it doesn't require too
Much of my attention? I think the 50 shades books ruined my ability or right to read .. It addled my brain

Please excuse any typos from my fat fingers!
Tapatalk madness!

How about a baby book? We've started one, with bump photos, scan pics, stuff we've done whilst i've been pregnant, letters to the baby etc?

Lol jayne!

you could try making sock monkeys! they are SO easy, knitting with a basic stitch is fine thats all i can do!

you could get lots of different wools and just knit 30 by 30 ( stitches ) squares then when you have enough sew them all together for a blanket!

if you want a good read try the girl with the dragon tattoo trilogy they are totes amaze boats!

Or why not try plaiting freidnship bracelets? i know its a tad skooly but i love it lol! you could sell em on ebay!

a baby book is a great idea, i am doing one for natalie as i am her bump buddy and it has all her scans and weekly updates with weekly bump piccys

poor you hun, you have really had it with ther SPD havent you babe xxx

i will come cheer you up on msn laters!

Jayne I am the most rubbish person at angry birds ever! to think they used to pay me to play mobile phone games  But what a lovely interesting idea

Well today I started cross stitching ... its a beginners pattern of a baby giraffe .. I've done ok, made a few mistakes, but it mostly looks ok. Literally spent all day doing it, its quite addictive. I feel like I have arthritis in my fingers now though  Been having some problems with my hands so will have to monitor and assess.

I have ordered 2 more patterns off of ebay this evening though ... they are very theraputic ... and now I'm old I need old people hobbies!

I'm currently obsessed with crochet..! Never thought I would be, but I love it!

I'd love to learn how to knit!
I make jewellery, I find it very satisfying and I am totally addicted to all the sparkly beads! plus it helps when you can wear said item at the end of the day
Simple to start, just a little bit of kit and great for making christmas presents, a bit less fiddly than cross stitch if you are struggling with your fingers, just don't work with seed beads, you will go cross eyed
