Hi All,

Just wanted to ask a quick question.

I have found out I am pregnant, very early days at the moment 2-3 weeks.

We are currently doing alot of decorating in our house, walls are all painted its just the glossing left to do, is it safe for me to be glossing while in such early pregnancy?

Any advise would be helpful.

Thanks

If you’re using water and not solvent based paints it would be fine. Solvent based paints are bad for fumes so I’d personally be inclined to avoid them esp in tri1. Perfect excuse for your OH to do the work!

In your first Trimester - please ensure you are getting plenty of fresh air.

We were redorating in first Tri too and I just refused to do anything I didnt feel right about.

O/h has started another project whilst I am in third trimester but I am not as worried anymore. First tri is so much more delicate.

Look after yourself x

Thanks, I will look at getting some water based gloss as I know gloss is a solvent paint.

OH hates glossing so I said I would do it, but this was before I knew haha!

To be fair he has painted all the walls :):)

Perhaps wear a purpose built mask and ensure room is ventilated (tricky with gloss!) in any case. Everything is forming in tri1 so best to be overly cautious x
