Pains

Since last night ive been having pains all over my belly and back like trapped wind..its constant so i dont think im in labour. i also had a small wet patch in my pants on xmas day. do you think my body is preparing itself for the labour room?

Hi Roxanne

Not sure if it's actually labour or if it's a "dry run" for you but all I can say is that a friend of mind at 36 weeks spent 6 hours with "trapped wind" and when they finally called the midwife she told them to go to hospital.

My friend was already 7 cm dilated!!!

Might be worth a call and describe your symptons - is the hospital quite close and can you get there to be checked out??

Had lots of wet discharge since around 34 weeks (sorry if TMI), midwife said its normal the nearer you get to delivery...
Keep eye on it though, if it gets heavier, or gushes, it could be your waters, and also if the pains get worse, give hozzie a ring xxx

its thirty minutes away..but i dont want to look stupid since its constant pain and feels like trapped wind. i also did not have a show

God don't worry about looking stupid!! None of us first timers really know what to expect!! I'd give them a call anyway, people don't always have a show!!

No, not everyone has a show, my midwife told me that...sometimes even your waters dont go!

If in doubt, ring them, they would rather a false alarm that you sruggling on chick xx

Well, I had bath and pains were still there this time on my side, so i called hospital and told me to go in so that they can check me out, they put me on heart monitor, babys heartbeat is healthy and she was moving up and down as if she was on a tramoline. apparantely baby is so low down that she is discovering every single nerve in my body.

Phew well thats a relief that your not in labour!!

Baby has a wee bit more cooking to do yet. Hope the pains ease soon

well , it seems i cant get rid of the pain though , i think this baby will come earlier than expected

just mild braxton hicks. midwife said that its a sign that i should put my feet up..but someone needs to do the cleaning!
