Pains...

Hey guys, this has probably been covered a million times but just need to put mind at rest...

I have been getting funny pains around my ribs - almost as if baby has found its way up that far and is punching/kicking me in the ribs?

Would this not be too early? Or is it perfectly normal?

I would've thought it's too early for it to be the baby, but it could be that your uterus is pushing everything else upwards so your lungs etc are getting a bit squished?

didn't think of that... however if it persists, a trip up the docs may be in order... it literally did feel like a 1-2 second "prod" then another... xx

I'm a little a head of you but I get twinges under my ribs like he's kicking them! Only been noticing them for about a week though!

Yeah - you are 6 weeks ahead of me hunni which is the same as my friend who gets these pains too - hence why i think it's a tad early for me to be getting them... on the other hand if they are kicks/punches then - OMG! may it continue! xx

I tend to wake up with these its not too comfortable but think its normal as everything continues to move upwards x

I started getting the same thing yesterday, I thought it was too soon for bubs to be able to kick me there as well.. I can feel him/her kicking under my belly button and its the same sort of feeling but I cant see it being a kick that high up... Unless our babies have really long legs!?!!x

hehe - yeah that's a good point LilyMac - although alot of internet pages say it could very well be baby. Even as early as 16 weeks! My friend also had the same with her baby and her midwife said it was too xx

Oh my... If it is bubs and this is what its like at 18/19 weeks for us can you imagine what its gonna be like when we're further along?!
I got kicked in the ribs so hard yesterday it actually made me jump lol x

hehe - it's exciting though huh? I can't wait to have more movement... will become even more real in addition to scans and my big belly lol xx

I know I cant wait for it all to seem more real, Im quite big for 18 weeks so thats always a reminder but I cant wait to get the 20 week scan done and for my OH to be able to feel the movements as well, cause at the moment I just feel like Im losing the plot cause Im the only one that feels it lol x

I know that feeling! It will be so much better when our oh's can feel whats going on too - I'm massive - all my friends reckon i'm carrying twins! I'm as big as they were at full-term and i'm only 19 weeks! x

Haha everyone told me I was having twins but I made the sonographer check about 10 times when I went for my dating scan! And now everyone thinks Im about 6-7 months! Bloody cheek if you ask me!
When is your 20 week scan chick?x

LOL - I'm going to get sonographer to check as many times as possible on 20 week scan hehe - I have my scan on 4th Aug so i will actually be 21 weeks by then. I cannot wait! Cannot come sooner! What about you hun? xx

Yeah I think Ill get mine to double check as well lol
Mines this saturday.. will only be 18+4!! But Im still hoping its clear enough to see everything that needs to be seen, my scans so far havent been that clear
Plus I want to see what we're having, dont want to wait anymore!!
Are you going to find out or you keeping it a suprise?x

Yeah i know what you mean - most annoying thing about my 12 week scan was that we could see baby really clearly but the pics she took weren't as clear . But yeah, we will be finding out the sex - give us plenty of time to get what we need and argue over names lol! Hope your scan goes well on Sat! You will have to get the pic up on here so we can see xx

Ah thats annoying, ours was similar, there was some good chances for photos and the ones she took were really hard to make out
Yaaay I love it when people find out. I cant stand surprises and I hate not knowing what other people are having too!!
Its more fun when you know, cause you can buy specific things instead of everything being white yellow or other boring colours!!
Ill do my best to get a pic up here, really struggled last time couldnt figure out how to do it lol

no problem hun... but yeah i agree, it is much better to know rather than just buying all neutrals hehe. i've done the neutral shoppping haha! i want to be pink or blue shopping now lol xx
