This is my first pregnancy and I'm hoping someone can help.

I keep getting sharp, jabbing sort of pains in my pelvic area on the right side and get worried what they are, they are especially sharp if I have been sitting down and then get up, they only last a second, could they be 'growing' pains? I've had them from about 16wks.

Hiya!!

Maybe you have a urine infection, that can be quite painful?

Not really sure about any other suggestions!

Hi Luv

I have had the same from the word 'pregnant' , really sharp, low on the right hand side but doesn't last to long. I asked my mid-wife and she said growing/stretching pains so i wouldn't worry. I get the same if i turn over in bed sometimes.

Prehaps it's an 'age' thing as I'm nearly 40 as well !!!!!!!
(only joking) :cheer:

Yeah i get these too, and have done since about 8 weeks, just every now and again, and if i turn too quick in bed. I think its just stretching pains, and im only 24, lol
