Hi all,

Since January I have really tried to limit anything negative entering my body even when I am not in my tww. So have practically cut out alcohol and am trying to eat healthily etc.

I suffer from really painful AF - cramps etc for 2-3 days at the start. I used to have to juggle between ibuprofen and paracetamol to cope with the pain. However since January I have tried using a mooncup instead of tampons and it really has helped to ease the pain. it is a bit yucky and I am still getting used to coping with changing it in public loos etc but I am a convert.

However, back to the point of this thread. I read that you shouldnt take ibuprofen while ttc in your tww because it changes your uterus environment or something?? I have been just about coping with just paracetamol for AF pains, but is it actually safe to take ibuprofen for AF pains becasue that isn't a fertile time?

Any comments/discussion welcomed!

I have been avoiding ibuprofen too although not fully aware of all the reasons behind it tbh, I want to know more about the mooncup though... X

During AF I take paracetamol and ibuprofen cos it's soooo bad!! Used to have to take diclofenic but jus manage with ibuprofen and paracetamol now!!

During af I think it's perfectly safe x

errrr i dont take ibuprofen or paracetamol purely because they dont work i have to take mefenamic acid 500mg all the way through my cycle as always in pain due to pcos i asked about causing probs and was told it shouldnt matter what you take really xx

and i didnt mean errrrrr as in errrr blah blah i ment errrrm i forgot the m lol xxx

Thanks guys thats really interesting. I guess if I am in pain when AF turns up I will take ibuprofen and not worry too much.

More info on the mooncup here: www.mooncup.co.uk I thought errgghhhh thats gross when I first heard about them, but honestly it is wonderful and the pain has seriously decreased.
