Any Suggestions? I have been on the pill for 8 years. I came off in January this year. My cycle is 30 days. I've had 2 ovulations where I am exactly day 12 and I have experienced ovulation lower back pain on my left side both times and had positive LH Surge in the evenings.

However this month I am abit worried as I have had lower back pain the day before my ovulation day and slight cramping on the day of my ovulation but I have tested the whole day and got negative results.

I am worried that I have missed my ovulation or I'm not ovulating ?
I have been drinking alot of water the past few days could this be affecting my urine sample as it is very clear looking.

I have also read online that if you have a cold it can prevent ovulation happening and I came down with a cold the day before. I was also wondering if lower back pain could be a sign of implantation? (hopeful thinking)

Any ideas would help, Thanks :)

I got pregnant this cycle and never got a positive LH surge, so don't count yourself out.. Listen to your body. If you're having all your usual signs, there's a good chance you're still ovulating. It's possible you've geared up to ovulated and not actually done it, but it's probably more likely that you've diluted your urine too much.

Being sick can delay ovulation but usually I've only had that happen when it's something more serious than a cold. You might be delayed though so maybe keep testing and see how it goes. I'd be covering today though! Good luck x

Everyone is different however usually Id get my surge then the following morning or evening Id get really bad OV pains - so for me if I waited for the pain to DTD then Id have already missed my surge, but everyone is different.

We did SMEP both times too so that IF we missed the surge, we had been DTD every 2 days, then every day over presumed OV.

Cx

I normally get my ov pains before I get a positive surge but maybe its the other way round this time

Didn’t know that you could get pregnant without an lh surge!

To be fair, I probably did have one and diluted my urine too much to catch it. I can't not drink and I can't hold my urine for 4hrs. Some people say they get positives on only 2hr holds though so who knows.. OPKs are not my friend. Won't be using them next time I'm TTC.

The LH surge happens a day or so before ovulation is due to happen (as it's the thing that tells your body to release an egg) - so I wouldn't expect to detect it post-ovulation. Were you testing prior to the ov pains? xx

Drinking a lot will affect it. I'd go with the pain being ovulation if it's familiar.
