I only ask as when I got preggy with my lil girl the date the Doc said I'd concieved was actually when I would have been on my period :fib: , but I'd only had a 1 day AF that mmonth so that's obviously how I got Pg... I am ttc at the mo :wall: and am trying to clear up all my queries, so we can have as best chance as poss..

Any help on the matter would probably stop me head from exploding!!

Hi sweetie. It's impossible to ovulate when you're on your period, as your hormones at this point will physically not allow it. It is possible, however, to have bleeding that LOOKS like a period when the fertilized egg implants into your uterine lining. It's called implantation bleeding, and some women can mistake it for a one-day period.

There can also sometimes be a small amount of bleeding in the middle of the cycle when you ovulate because the egg is bursting quite violently out of the ovary, but this isn't the same as a period and is usually quite light.

The only time you can get pregnant during your cycle is the few days before you ovulate, when your discharge is the correct consistancy for sperm to swim in it without getting stuck and dying (i.e. when it is wet, slippery and in most cases stretchy).

Hope this info helps - good luck!!!

Yes you can ovulate while you've got your period thats why it's the best thing to chart by taking your temperature every morning so you know your cycle. Some people might never ever get pregnant because they assume they ovulate after their periods.
