I am over weight and pregnant and feel i cannot do exercise as it is challenging and sore on my back. Does anyone else have the same problem and what do you do to overcome it?

Hey hun. Why not try walking or pilates/yoga? I got some good ante natal dvds from amazon. They are low impact but strengthen your core muscles xx

I'm overweight too, I've started walking with my husband 2/3 times a week. It's actually been really nice, we've never done it before and it's great to go different places and just walk around together. Today we are off to the local woods, I always drive passed the signs but never been.

I've also tried cutting out my junk food and chocolate intake, trying to eat more fruit and veg instead.

Lol junk food... mmm lol
yeah i know what needs to be done but its just the doing it thats the problem.
My mum gets upset with me knowing i am harming myself and the baby too

don't get me wrong, sometimes I eat everything in sight. I just keep thinking, tomorrow I'll be good.......then a chocolate bar jumps into my hand when I'm in the garage getting petrol. lol.

How many weeks pregnant are you? When you see the midwife, she should asks if you want to see a health advisor later in the pregnancy, around 16 weeks I think. They will can help you too.

I'm overweight and worried about seeing the midwife, that she'll tell me off for being fat.

I've only gained 2ib's in the last six weeks though, week 4 all I wanted was sweet stuff but I've really cut down this last week and had a lot more fruit.

Well apart from eating three chocolate bars...

I've been walking, and I keep planning on going swimming but once I get back from work I feel so tired that I'm struggling to exercise on a night.

I'd really like to go to yoga or something like that, anyone know at how many weeks you can start pregnancy yoga?

I think you can start pregnancy yoga whenever you like? I might be wrong but i've not heard differently. I'm the same, i get in from work really late sometimes, or I'm working away from home. It's really difficult to exercise then or I just can't be bothered.

I've tried doing little things like taking the stairs in the car park rather than the lift and walking to the shop for bread and milk rather than driving. I'm thinking the little things might help (or I am hoping they will!)

I am the same. my job is weird and wonderful hours and just coming home to a comfy lookin bed lol
I have been swimming which i really do enjoy and theres a class called aquanatal which i think i will need to try!!
Its just so hard to get motivated
