I won't bore you with my history, it is pretty much in my signature anyway but I've tried to maintain that it will happen when it happens and just to keep my cool, not ss or check dates etc....but....now ive got a SMS time frame to get pregnant I'm trying to have an idea when my body is doing what!

So....

I've ordered some otks that should be with me within the week. I'm sure they'll come with instructions but does anyone have any tips when using them? Things I should do/look out for? Etc :)

Thank you :)

Hey hun,

How you doing?

I'm assuming you mean opk's?? If so you are right, they will come with a set of instructions.

I really only have a couple things to suggest/say...firstly never use morning urine, its said the best time to test is between 2pm an 8pm. On my first month i tested right from af leaving, testing once a day. Then when i got to cd10-12 i tested twice a day as i didnt know when i was ov'ing. Then i tested after i'd ov'd to see the test line disappearing...you dont have to do this. I just wanted to see my full cycle.

The first month of using them can be fairly frustrating to read them, especially if they're the strip tests? If they are the best thing you can do (which is what i did) Is keep the tests, label them and stick them into a book in order. Its so much easier to compare them if you have them infront of you, you'll be able to see the tests gettin stronger.

Also a lot of the ladies on here use the clerblue :D digi's to confirm ovulation once the strips look positive. Just to be on the safe side really.

The opks that look like HPT work pretty much the same, you can pull them apart and keep the paper bit if you want too.

Best of luck with your opks x x x

Thank you :) they came today, I have 50 tests :) my cycle varies between 25 and 28 days but my af lasts 7 days at least so should I start testing the day after I stop bleeding?

:)

Hiya :)

Because your cycles can be quite short I completely agree with you, If I were you I would start testing the day after AF has finished so from CD8 onwards.. good luck!! xxx

Thank you :) I had a little go last night as never done them before and i think I went overboard with the first one as it was invalid!lol! but the second one i tried worked well with a thick strong control line (obv it was neg due to where I am in my cycle) but I thought if I get the hang of it now I'm more likely to get it right when it comes around next month :)
