I have tried using opks for 4 months and covering the high and peak days...then tried not testing for 4 months and just covering every 2nd day or more. Tried temping too....now at the stage considering going back to opks as getting know where. I think I am ovulating later than I think so trying to cover a longer time frame this cycle but don't want to put extra pressure on DH.

If we have been dtd every 2nd day surley it covers us if sperm survives up to 5 days. why are we missing the egg every time...even when looking back at most months when af arrived we have dtd on the right days. I get loads of EWCM and ov pains and been told my day 21 bloods were high to suggest a multiple egg release.

In some ways it's similar for us. I've tried lots of strategies but I've now stuck with just OPKs as it's the least stressful by a mile for me. I don't tell OH the results at the time as I want to avoid any extra pressure on him. That way I make sure that we cover the most important days and the rest of the time we can just do what feels right. I found temping a nuisance personally but I know lots of ladies find it useful.

Once I knew my bloods were normal, it took a little while but I eventually got into the mindset that the eggs are there so all I need is a good idea about when I'm releasing them. It took a lot of the stress out of it. They didn't find any real issues with me until I had the ultrasound but now the polyp is gone, I feel that an embryo now has no excuse not to implant. Again helps a lot with the mindset.

Yeah I will feel better if they will scan my ovaries and check for cycts and check of tube blockages. If all well then I will just keep going and hoping but if there is something wrong at least I would feel better at the knowing whats the probelm and hopefully sort it like you have. I am sure you won't be long now !

Sadly even if you DTD at the right time you only het a % of chance to fall pregnant. You are not doing anything wrong, it is just the way it works. Some people are lucky and catch the egg 1st time they try and other can try for a year or longer before it happens.

Try to continue with OPK but also (i know this is easier said than done) try to relax around OV time.

Fingers crossed you get your bfp soon x

If you are dtd every other day you are already optimising your chances. I think you said your OH was getting his swimmer checked...obviously that's a good first step. Definintely get tested and checked yourself. It may just be a matter of luck but it's good to rule out issues that could be rectified.

ps I really like Clear Blue Advanced opks as they give you a bit more time.

Personally I think DTD every other day is better, pretty sure I read somewhere it's normally sperm that's already up there that will get you pregnant rather than DTD on the day you ovulate. Obviously DTD on the day you ov'd isn't a bad thing but sperm can survive for days and they do have a fair distance to travel. So my theory the more you get up there the better

But I am no expert :eh:

Yeah DH had his sperm checked and all withing normal ranges. The Doc has refered us to fertility clinic as been off pill over 2 years and properly trying 9 months ( told them 1 year)The doc saod it will be about 1 year until we are even seen by them to get a scan of my ovaroes etc. So at least I am on tbe waiting list if notbing happens by then. It just seems so long!

Have you read SMEP? Think it's free on kindle and I know a couple of girls who got pregnant using that plan to BD xx

I think it's better to try dtd every other day. We at least try to but we're following smep (sperm meets egg plan) this month so it's been a little bit different.

I do like opks because I find that I'll get my period 14/15 days after a positive. Makes it easier to know where I am in my cycle and af of course will be bang on time!

I'm sure I read somewhere before that if you dtd after a pos opk it might be too late for the sperm to get where they need to be. No idea if that's true though.

Silly question but when do you count start and end of af? I spot brown before and after and never sure where I am exactly because of that. Going to BD every 2nd day this cycle but for longer and still use opks anyway just so I know whats happening but will BD later regardelss as maybe we are stopping to early in the fertile time frame. I only hope DH can 'preform' fpr that many days haha. We habe been refered to fertility clinic anyway and are on the huge 1 year waiting list to be seen for a scan so least thats the ball rolling so to speak.

First day of a proper flow is usually counted as cd1 xx

Not heard of the SMEP before but that's pretty much what we did DTD wise when we got pregnant before, and that is probably roughly what we'll do this month :)

First day of red blood...any spotting is counted as part of last month's cycle.

This month I'm planning something similar. I'm keeping the OPKs as it means I know when to expect af but I think I might try covering a longer period than I've focused on in previous cycles.
