me and hubby have been discussing names over the last week and have literally not agreed upon names apart from this one. I know its not a name that is going to cater to everyones likes but we seem to love it.

Im just wondering what you all think incase were being totally bonkers as we wont be telling family and friends the names until after baby is born.

The name that we like we would use as a unisex name for either sex as we are no finding that out either.

what do you all think of the name OAKLEY?

I don't like it, sorry.
But if you like it then go for it.

cosmic girl, no need to be sorry. I know its gonna have the same impression as marmite people are gonna either love it or hate it.

Oh I really like it!! I came across it the other day but it's a bit too different for hubby. I love quirky, different names. Koby is another unisex name I like, and Hadley (I know a boy Hadley but saw this on a girls list and thought it was pretty cool). I like Dexter for a boy but it's a no go for hubby. I also came across Parker and Blake which are both quite cool unisex names. Just my opinion but thought I'd share incase you liked them. My husband won't agree on any of these so feel free to steal one lol xx

it is a lovely name, but in the childrens cartoon Rosie, the big tree is called Oakley.

Oakley is my maiden name, we were going to use it as a middle name but went with grandpa's first names instead. If i'm completely honest im not sure about it for a girls name

It's different but I kinda like it! What's your surname if you don't mind me asking! My fiancé and I have had a few name ideas and then thought again when couple it with his surname!

Surname is Hodgkinson. It's so hard I've tried really hard not to like it ha ha but I love it. See I much prefer it as a girls name but still love it as a boys. I've seen people called it i fact I'm sure the a few weeks back was called it on obem.

Love it, I posted it on here in 2012 to see what people thought and got mixed reviews. We didn't end up using it but its still on my list for this baby.
If you both love it go for it. The sunglasses aren't that popular anymore anyway!

Aren't they? I'd best tell my oh that his sunnies are rubbish now then ;)

My hubby suggested Oakley

I don't like it and it reminds me of the sunglasses too much

I'm not a fan to be honest. But then I am not keen on any quirky name really.
To me, Oakley sounds like a boy's name. I don't think it's suited to a little girl at all.
As long as you're ready for the strong mixture of opinions you may get from family/friends (lots of negative views from my nearest & dearest tend to put me off), I say use whatever you love. It's your baby.

Im sorry i see sunglasses and trendy name of a short period, but thats just ne being really supervhonest .

My girls name got this opinion as too harsh sounding too if that helps but sounding off here helps to giveyou a taste of comments you might get later on without family being involved. Im sticking withmy name, so pretend your name is the one and trial it out. If you still loving it in a couple mths then its the one.

Dontforget look how many people have called there baby girls Amelia or Emilia lately. Your baby wouldnt have that problem at all .

Late reply, but I had this name on my list of boys names, love it! I now have to start over since finding out we having a girl, don't think it works for a girl!
