Since finding out I was pregnant I have had zero sex drive, I have deprived hubby of sex for the last 10 weeks or so because I just couldnt face it. Today however, I got out of shower and all of a sudden felt like sex I shouted on hubby to come up for some rumpy which he of course bolted upstairs for My question is, does the sex of the baby make a difference to sex drive in pregnancy?

If anyone else has spare sex drive - my poor hubby is banned until at least 12 weeks so would be keen to oblige.....

We're mean to our hubbys eh! At least you have banned hubby for a good reason hun, mine was just that I couldnt be bothered!

He started out saying he didnt want to do it til after the baby was born as he was too scared something would go wrong - but that has fast deteriorated to 'so when is 12 weeks up????'

I think since finding out DH has only gotten lucky 2 times. Poor guy

I just have zero sex drive and I'm also a little concerned about something going wrong in 1st Tri.

I wonder if its psychological, we dont want anything to go wrong in 1st tri so we shut off our sex drive!

I've been having loads of sex dreams, but no sex until 12 weeks. (dh's dictatorship not mine!)
I think it could just be the psychological thing though.

I think my poor OH only got it once or twice for about 6 months.

The last month I think he must think all his christmasses and birthdays have come at once (or did - he asked tonight if we could give it a miss as he wasn't feeling well and would like a break! ) I do feel a bit mean though as the last week or so has only been because I want to abuse his potentially labour inducing semen (which clearly doesn't do the job! )

Yeap - we're going cold turkey too! MW suggested no "poking" until after a scan. Once we get a heartbeat (fingers crossed for scan on the 6th January) I'll feel better about it all. To be honest feeling too sick and tired at the mo anyway!

Also cannot ride my beloved pony at the moment for same reason - I'll let you decide which activity I'm missing most!!!!.......

Well when I was pregnant with Olivia we were like rabbits I didnt give bleeding or anything a second thought, though I got some at around 9ish weeks I think but was only for about 30 mins and never to be seen until labour when the midwife helped things along (it really hurt!)

Well im going on there

So yeah during this pregnancy even before the bleeding which again Ididnt think about it too much when having sex even after having a m/c but I just didnt want it.

Now even more so after the spotting ive had, but I do have my moments where I just want to ravage him and we do it just he dont go all the way in

So yeah Snuggle I know exactly what you mean, it just comes over me and we have to have sex, its always really good then too

Hope you don't mind me sharing my experience . With no1 son my poor dh did not get any for the whole of the pregnancy until the "magic" 6 week check after the birth - totally paranoid about damaging the baby . Not to be advised as although we did "other" things we lost the intimacy and it took sometime to get it back! No.2 son I was rampant from start to finish and have to admit to doing "the deed" within days of his birth! Can't remember with no.3 son - either didn't have the energy or carried on as normal and with dd we were sporadic - sometimes gagging for it sometimes not lol! So there you go my pregnancy/sex history - my only advice listen to your body and go with the flow! Enjoy your pregnancies they fly by!

Lol I've been wanting it but when it comes round to it I'm nervous about harming baby. Is the advice from drs not to until you are 12 weeks then?

Ours was just a personal decision due to losing a baby before - don't think the doctors usually tell you to abstain unless you have had quite a few m/cs.

oh i cnt even THINK about sex i have NO sex drive what so ever!! so he wil have to make do with cuddles lol but to be honest i dont even like kissing at the mo either! lol

Not sure if the baby's sex is anything to do with it but weve only done it 3 time's so far as i really dont fancy it at all and am always worried about if we do do the deed

That cracked me up - i can so imagine chris doing that as well

With stephen I was gagging for it al the time and if he didnt feel like sex i felt rejected and the world was ending, i was well horney!!!

With imogen i think we mangaed it a few times, i cba tbh. I think i half heartedly jumped him when DD had passed as I wanted her out

I dont think its to do with the sex, if differs from person to person!

I've not given in to my boyfriend. We did start to 'do it' a couple of weeks ago but he was drunk and then was promptly ill I started getting some very very light spotting and have been too scared to do it since! Also waking up at 4am roasting hot and running to the bathroom has put a bit of a dampener on it!

Thanks girls, I guess all the hormones, fatigue and sickness puts us off for a bit. My morning sickness has almost gone now so am starting to feel a bit more human so maybe thats why my sex drive is getting a bit better
